Hi everyone,

I'm US Citizen and I want to bring my father from Colombia to the US. I want to know what are the stages? from what I read, I need to file form I-130 first and then wait for a visa interview for him in colombia? if he gets an interview what he should bring to the interview? and after that what would happen? once he is here Am i going to need to file I-485? My father came with a visa back in 1999 and he overstayed for 3-4 years then he went back to colombia and has lived there ever since 2003. Also, I live in California and he would be living in another state (NJ) where he has connections to start a new job . I need to know what are the stages, required documents and if the 2 factors I mentioned early will affect the case? Thanks in advance :goofy:

After you petition him it goes after initial approval to NVC where you will pay more fees,

when completed NVC send docs needed at interview at the embassy including police record

from his country...PLEASE disclose his overstays on all forms & any arrest/convictions in

the past in any country
