I actually knew someone that this happened to as well. Except she was not nearly as big as this woman. I never believed my acquaintance though. She went into the hospital thinking she had food poisoning and was actually giving birth. Whatever!!! I don't buy it with my her but maybe this woman really was just too big to notice. Don't you feel the baby moving around after awhile though? When do you start making milk? This just seems crazy to me

I have at least some idea how this could happen. Women, especially those who are overweight, can be prone to having PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). This can cause them to, quite naturally, skip periods for a long time. For instance, I had skipped for nearly a year before I finally lost enough weight for it to get under control and my body to get back to normal. When my weight went back up, I started skipping again. It just happens.

I, at least, did the smart thing when dealing with this condition, and that was... any time I was sexually active, I would get a pregnancy test every month and a half or so. Although I still can't understand why you wouldn't feel the baby moving around or at least something strange. Still, you'd be amazed what people can dismiss as nothing, especially if they don't like doctors.

I just don't understand how this woman didnknow something. I can understand the irregular periods, I can understand the lack of weight gain or the way weight can hide the pregancy. I can understand how she might not realize it for the first several months. I can even understand not recognizing the movement of the baby- some move more more than others. BUT i can;t understand how she didn't realize by the last 6-8 weeks. Was she afraid she had some tumor or something? She had to know something was there?
