Actually the situation in the Netherlands is a lot worse than that. They have recently imposed a local law (I think in Rotterdam or Rijswick) where it is illegal to talk in a foreign language (other than dutch) in the street...that is, if you are a resident. Apparently, overhearing anything other than dutch is intimidating to the local population. Immigrants are required to participate in a minimum of (3hrs I think) schooling in dutch per week and have certain targets that they must achieve.

Recognise that religion was created by man - based on myths that cannot be substantiated.

That may be true and certainly religion has caused more wars than anything....BUT...just because you choose not to follow any particular faith, it doesn't mean that there aren't a hell of a lot of people who find peace and comfort in their chosen faith. If you want people to respect your right to not practice a faith, you have to allow the same for them.

It is ok to practise your faith... but if your faith does not allow you to integrate then something is wrong... how can one expect school girls dressed in a burqa to integrate??? They stand out... to me the burqa is something that reeks of opression. How can anyone expect integration when opression continues unabated?

You know there was a time when the Dutch were amongst the most linguistically abled people and took pride in it... in addition to Dutch most people could speak French, German and English without a problem. It is sad that events such as the murder of Theo Van Gogh have turned this nation into a xenophobic one.

Let's face it, most (not all) criminals and terrorists are stupid, otherwise they wouldn't

have become criminals and terrorists in the first place.
