Question.

We are pretty far along in the K1 visa process. She is here with me, after enterting on the K1 visa. We have gotten married and wanted to go ahead and do our adjustment of status. She didn't receive work authorization, so we were going to do that with the AoS.

Thing is, when we filed the 129F, we followed these steps:

Now, we're onto the filing the I485, and we're finding the same information is to be sent on this one too?

http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-aos.html

Seems both of the FAQs are listing the same info?

We had already sent the affidavit of support I -864 (notorized), birth cerfificates, two passport photos, G325A, medical exams.

I thought we would only have to send the marriage certficate since they should already have this other documentation?

Damn, I hope we dont have to re-do all those forms!!

Your K1 visa process is finished.... she is here... your are now an AOS applicant and it is a totaly new application so yes you have to complete all the forms and provide all the information/evidence asked for, even if you sent it with the K1....

Here is the guide for filing for AOS from a K1:-

Sorry - you WILL have to re-do the forms. The information on the G-325A has changed, if you think about it..... and the I-864 needs to be updated. Follow the guides and more importantly, the instruction pages on each of the forms....

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
