So my husband had his interview in Cd. Juarez Oct. 20 was given a 221G blue slip asking for my birth certificate. We sent it out that same day,got confirmation that it was received Oct 21@ 10:14 am. If we Check status online it said updated Oct. 22. Then just recently Oct 27 but we have still not received an answer. I'm scared this means he will be denied or have to wait months until we have an answer. Anybody have similar circumstances that can kind of give me an estimate of how much longer this will take?

Yep, all you can do is wait. On our form that asked for documents, it states it can take anywhere between 6-8 weeks AKA it's them saying "Don't bug us about it until 8 weeks has passed". At least our paper did, but luckily the day after they got what they requested they updated our case and took it from Admin Processing to READY so hopefully that's good news!

As long as the interview went well and all they needed was a Birth Cert then it should be fine. Having status updates means they're doing something on the case, and something is much better than nothing!

So, I called the consulate in Juarez yesterday as I have pretty much every other day. I was told give it 10 days but it has been more then 10 so the girl put in a request to see what is going on with the case and later that afternoon I checked the status on the visa and now it no longer says ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING.. now it says READY! (yay) BUT... under descriptions it says you are now ready for your interview please have all your paperwork blah,blah... and we received an email asking us to send in the requested information from the consulate and follow instructions which is basically the same thing we got right after the interview when they asked for MY birth certificate. Im so confused.. I called again and people on the phone have no clue what Im talking about their system has updated they still get STATUS UPDATE: Oct.22 day they received the requesting documents.. my attorneys legal assistant hasnt been much help either. So Im wondering if we need to schedule another appointment?

If the 221g says do not schedule another appointment, DO NOT schedule another appointment. I know ours said that on there.

The email may have been delayed, was it asking for the same thing the 221g asked for? If it was, and you know they recieved the document, and the CEAC site shows you marked as READY then, it's most likely the email was sent late and you can ignore it.

After it hits READY you just have to wait, some people wait months, some people wait weeks, some wait days, it all depends on the consulate and how they're handling documents. The fact it's on READY is good.

The standard READY will ALWAYS say you can schedule, it's just the default text they put there, but if the paper 221(g) says do not make another appointment in the instructions to send the paperwork, DO NOT make one. If it says you can make another appointment, then I guess go ahead but honestly your best chance is waiting and seeing what happens.
