Well today was my road test... We got up early to make my 8 am appointment... I was incredibly nervous and got more nervous as we were driving there... I am not sure why because I have been driving for about 15 years...

Well we get to the DMV and I am waiting my turn and the DMV guy comes up to the car and he seems nice enough (I heard him humming to himself :lol: ) I was like this guy seems nice, the test shouldn't be to bad... and I slowly stopped being so nervous... I signed the paper and then he started to check if everything was in working order....

He told me to turn on my left blinker and then he went to check if it worked... He looked as me as if to say, "ok turn it on" but I had turned it on :unsure: and then he told me to turn on the right side blinker and the same thing happened :unsure: My heart starting sinking.... He came and said he couldn't give me the test because the blinkers were not working.... He had to get in the car so I could pull the car forward and hubby was no where around :P I felt soo stupid....

I had to reschedule the test for March 30th (that was the first one available) ... Then I have to go through this all again :P:angry::crying:

thanks gals :thumbs:

My head feels foggy right now... I only got about 3 hours sleep last night.... I did plan to go to bed early but hubby called me around 10 pm and said he wouldn't be home till after 12... I never can sleep when he is not home... so I waited up for him and then I planned to go to bed but I ended up staying up for another hour or so and spent some time with the hubster :P:whistle:

**********************************************************************

I have a question... We are going on our road trip in less then 4 weeks.... I know I won't get my actual license before then ..... If I do get pulled over or I need to show some ID at the border etc.. will the paper license thing they give you be good enough??

I do have my passport and Greencard for ID purposes but I wonder if someone might want to see my actual driver's license...

and also they never took my Canadian license although they were supposed to... the lady asked if I had a license and I said yeah a CAnadian one and showed her and she looked at the other lady and asked if they needed to take it and she said she didn't think so.... I remember reading on the Cali DMV site that you are supposed to turn over foreign licenses... I am not sure what to do ....

The paper license should be just fine. It does have an expiration date (I believe....it's been awhile since I got my license) but it is meant to serve as your real license until the plastic one comes in the mail.

well today was my resheduled road test....

Hubby fixed the blinkers last weekend and I figured we were all set.... Again I was really nervous all the way to the DMV... I got into the line with my car and waited.... I got a lady this time and she seemed kind of grouchy... :P She asked to check the blinkers and she walked around the car... when she got to the back I noticed her talking to one of the other road testers.... and then she came around to the front and talked to this other lady and I saw them discussing something... Then the lady came to me and said that the blinkers need to have a yellow bulb :P and that I couldn't take the test with that car :angry:

so I had to reschedule again :blink: .... my new test date is April 27th...

geez Louise!!! :crying::angry::(

Joint accounts are convenient. We have one bank account, everything goes in and out of one place. It's easy. Best part is, we don't get all hung up like some other couples do about what is "my" money and what is "her" money ... it's all our money (read "her" money:P).
