Hello Everyone,

I need help. I have been approved for a I-129f visa. i was told by the nvc that my case would be forwarded to Lagos Nigeria. That was 9/25/2015 and I have heard nothing. I followed the instructions on my letter stating what to do next:

Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-4 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your intervew

However, this is for a NON IMMIGRANT VISA appication and my case number (provided by nvc is an IMMIGRANT Visa). im so confused. I have now completed the DS 160-Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. My question: should we pay for this visa now or wait until we are called?

I dont know if paying for the DS 160-Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application is what prompts an interview date or not. Please advise me of what to do I am so lost and I have sent emails to lagos and nobody has returned my responses.

@mods, please separate to its own thread vs hijack

@4love. Search the forums.http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/300-general-k1-guides-and-info/

The distinguishment of the K1 visa and its nonimmigrant/immigrant classification has been discussed at length.

I presume many existing threads re the DS160 payment and interview scheduling.

My experience w/ the NVC is do not wait for anything or you'll be waiting a long time. My impression from other posts as well. If you have your Case#s from then and such do not need to wait for anything else. Personally my 3rd party service assisted with this part so I have no further insights on it personally.

Please also be advised that your petition was approved, not your visa. You will find out if your visa was approved after your interview. It is important to make that distinction when you're asking questions on the forum because the answers would be completely different depending on what stage of the process you're at.
