I'm new to this so I apologize if my questions have been answered a million times.

My fiance and I just received the paper that says our case is approved and going to the NVC and will then go to her country.....

So here's our questions:

1)Does she need police clearance for countries she lived in that were more than five years ago? (We're sure we saw something that said only the last 5 years but we want to be sure)

2)Where does she get the paper that gets her the medical exam she needs to do in Manilla? (Is that part of what the embassy sends her?)

3)I am travelling there mid-Jan. Do you think our visa approval will be complete by then? (We're hoping she can come back with me.)

4)What's the best/fastest and reliable courier to the Phil? She doesn't live in a major city and getting mail there can be slow.

1) Look here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/1178798/feb2015/IV%20Applicant%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_February%202015_.pdf

* Applicants aged 16 years and older must also present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for one (1) year or more after reaching the age of 16.

2) Look here: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023/procedures-lay-out2.html

3) There's no way to tell. Call the embassy a couple of weeks after your petition leaves NVC and inquire about interview dates and see what dates they have available.

4) Each embassy is different so I'll let others with experience in dealing directly with them answer this one.

I've used fedex and ups numerous times with no issues. My girl has no street address like most don't just a name and barangay and it's always made it to her. Everything else was answered so doesn't bear worth repeating.

1) Yes. Any foreign country she lived in for 6 months or more, from the age of 16 years and older.

2) Follow the flashing arrow in my signature for information on USEM and SLEC

3) No one knows. Depends..

4) FEDEX, DHLS, UPS (for sure not postal) Only the I-134 needs to be an original w/signature. All other documents can be sent as attachments PDF in an email.

Thank you all very much. I saved the links. VERY HELPFUL.

I didn't know you could email everything except the I 134. That's good to know but I was also thinking of sending some extra things besides papers that's why I asked about fast and reliable. I've never mailed her anything, usually I bring them when I visit or just send money when needed.

Anyway, thanks again. Hopefully things will go smooth.

OH, just curious.....how much notice is given before the interview? If possible, I was thinking of traveling there to go with her but short notice doesn't help with trying to fly to another country.

Not sure what the notice is like for your particular embassy but when I booked my interview, the first available time slot was two months out. That was back in August. It looks like they are now three months out. So really depends.
