Hi everyone,

I had a RFE and those documents were sent 10/20/15 and my 1-yr extension letter expires 11/6/15. I've been trying to make an Infopass appointment for the past 2 weeks for the Newark, NJ office, and I have an appointment but not until 11/17/15. Would I still be able to get a stamp for extension even though technically my extension letter would be expired by that time? Plus, my ROC is still pending while they go through my RFE documents so I'm still a PR right?

Also, what would I need to bring to better my chances of getting a stamp?

You are still a resident until your ROC is either approved or denied.

Well, in that case, I hope I can get a stamp before I hear back about my RFE!

Your documents were sent in 10/20/14, and your extension letter expires in a few days 11/6/15? Correct? I am surprised that you didn't make an Infopass appointment in July 2015, inquiring about an extension, four months before the expiration of your I-797 receipt/extension letter.

Earlier this year, we hadn't heard anything about our ROC adjudication, then got an RFE 8 months after we had originally sent in the ROC petition. We submitted our RFE response, then were going make an Infopass appointment, seeking an extension/stamp due to their protracted adjudication, and the impending expiration of our extension letter. However, we got our ROC approval one week after receipt of our RFE response.

You are going to have to get proactive in this matter nowish, and make an Infopass appointment, seeking another extension.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
