Hi,

I have received an email from NVC on 23 Oct 2015 stating my CR-1 case has been received and interview date has been scheduled.

I have called NVC day before yesterday and they said they have no information about interview date, I really want to celebrate my birthday and new year with my husband, waiting since 2012

Is there any way we can ask NVC to expedite the process

One more issue my husband applied petition for 2 unmarried kids in September 2015 only, as he missed them while submitting my petition, will it effect my case

How long my kids case can take to get completed

Please extend your support and advise, I wish those who got visa might read this and will share experience

Best of luck

So it can take 2 to 4 weeks to get interview date? And interview date will fall next year?

Best of luck

Since your interview date has been scheduled it MAY be this year, but with major holidays coming up, and many embassy staff going home for Christmas, I would not count on it. Even if your interview is this year, remember it can take several weeks to get the passport back, and there may also be extra security checks after the interview before the visa is issued (though those are less likely with a female beneficiary).

Your kid's visa cases should not affect yours. How old are they? if they are over 18, did you get married to the US petitioner before they were 18?

Hi Penguin,

Thanks a lot, Yes you are right about upcoming holidays it might effect the interview date.

My kids are 16 and 15 years old, actually we went on K1 visa and did only religious ceremony last year in March but due my father sudden illness we left US and came back without registering our marriage before 90 days.

Yes I am married to US citizen now and he applied again this year for CR-1 visa but unfortunately he missed to apply petition for kids seperatly.

It's lot of paper work but some how he managed and applied kids petition in September 2015, and it's still with USCIS for approval.

I don't know it will take now how long for kids to get all the approvals and visa in hand

Best of luck

You could try and get the kids expedited to meet up with your petition, they may do it but likely not since your interview is already scheduled.

It usually takes about a year to get their sort of visa from filing to interview.

In this scenario do you think I can apply for kids visitor visa, so that I can go register our marriage and come back within 3 or 6 months whatever visit visa validation!

Sorry for asking too many things but I am just thinking about best possible way to be with husband and kids both in a legal way

Best of luck

You can apply for visit visas for them, it may be difficult to get them.

There is no need to register your marriage in the USA.

Received an email from NVC that it will take more time to schedule my interview

"Please be advised that we schedule interview appointments based on the capacity of the respective U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. We are unable to predict when an interview will be scheduled. "

☹️☹️☹️☹️ more wait

Best of luck

Well think of it this way, the longer it takes the less time you will be apart from your kids. I highly suggest trying to expedite your kids while you are waiting.

Yes you are right, I am still waiting for USCIS approval for my kids petition! after that I will ask NVC for expedition as right now best of my knowledge is not possible with USCIS to ask for expedition

Best of luck
