Hello all,

My wife has an appointment to file here I-601 waiver on Wednesday March 7th. I have been hearing a lot of talk about this new waiver pilot program and that it will only help those who have not filed yet. I am not sure if my wife should file her waiver or not on Wednesday  . Please help!!! Does anyone have any information on when this pilot program will begin and how long it will take to process waivers thereafter?

Thanks everyone,

Tom

Know nothing other than there is a thread going on about it on www.immigrate2us.net, so have a read there.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Tom, as Boiler said and as I explained, the thread is on immigrate2us.net where there are many many more people filing waivers through CDJ. There is no other information about this program at this time.

If I were you, I would cancel the appointment and wait to see what happens. It's a choice between filing now and waiting close to a year, or holding off filing for a few more weeks most likely and waiting less than a month hopefully.

(And I personally wouldn't bother contacting my senator either -- it's not like anyone in the US government would care if waivers already submitted don't qualify for the pilot program - there is always a cut off date for any new program and CDJ's backlog is so long that anything they try to do is better than nothing).

It's something only CDJ is going to try as a pilot program to try to actually eliminate the 10-12 month wait for waivers. Who knows - if it works, maybe other locations will start doing it too.
