hello vj members, there is something i just noticed right now
i hope i can be clear as much as i can so you can understand my case
in july i applied for visitor visa , so i had to fill ds-160 application which is the same application that we fill also for the k1

anyhow, i applied and got denied because i had no strong ties to my country, anyway

i filled the same application month ago for the k1, with the same account on ustraveldocs.com, but of course another info like the kind of visa which is k1 visa and at the end i knew how much i should pay with the CGI

everything went well, but just now i noticed something, at the end there is a page we should print to take with me at the interview day, and despite it says the visa class is k visas and it mentioned it is k1 visa, but i noticed the confirmation number is not the same like the confirmation number for the ds-160 for the k1 visa

i still save the confirmation number page at my computer for the visitor visa so i took a look and i found that the confirmation number in ustraveldocs.com for the k1 visa is the confirmation number for my old visitor visa, i got so panicked

i don't know how is that happened, or is this normal
please if someone else have any knowledge tell me about it
thanks so much for taking this time reading my case

Hi Dina,

I already have a B2 visa, when I applied again for the K1 visa , the DS 160 confirmation number is the same as that of the of the old B2 visa (same as you).

I think its just a glitch with the system as when it comes to K1 visa you don't book an appointment using the website (unlike the B2 visa), nothing to worry about as long as we have the receipt with the amount paid (k1 fees).

Mahmoud,

As long as you updated the DS-160 with newer and pertinent information before submitting it for your K1 visa petition then everything should be fine. Good luck!

Glad to hear it! This process takes a lot of patience and perseverance so hang in there and God willing you will have your loved one by your side soon enough.

you are so right, tell me about it, i took 6 months to have my approval and another month until the embassy received my petition, and in Egypt it take about 3 months for the interview, i cant wait for all that to coming to happy ending, and truly i wish the same for everyone here and for you too :)
