No way for you to expedite this process, sorry. I would contact the airline to see if they will change the departure date for free if need be.

Nobody can predict the future, especially when it comes to AP. You get warned against booking your flights before you have the visa in hand EVERYWHERE. Here on VJ and even the embassies tell you to not make any nonrefundable travel plans until you have your passport with the visa in it in your hands. I'm sorry, but all you can do it hope for the best.

Good luck.

Thank you, its my fault I knew that, but i was hoping she would be as lucky as i was when i went thru the process of booking my flight before I got my visa, I will just have to play the waiting game, but thank you.

Hi kryssy,

I can certainly feel for you. Yeah, although it states "do not book flights ..... ", we did the same thing. If you were right on, then you probably would have saved money, because flights are cheaper the further in advance you can book. So it's a gamble!

As far as your question. It is very frustrating. We required additional documents which were received by the embassy in Bogota on October 23rd. Still waiting for that status to change from "Administrative Processing" to "Issued". Just trying very hard to NOT check the website more than once per hour. LOL.

Best of luck.

Hi davidboston, thank you and yes its cheaper to book the flights early plus i have to sign up for vacation like a month in advance, but you are so silly about checking the website lol, what website do you go to to see the status? I did not go to a website, i called the NVC, but what website did you use to see the status?

AP can last from several days/weeks to several years in the more extreme cases. You should never book a flight until the visa is in hand.
