My name is Aria. My wife is a US citizen. We married on Feb 14, 2015 in Toronto, Canada and we both live there now.

Our I-130 is approved and case is sent to NVC. We recieved NVC welcome letter including case number and incvoice ID number, but we did not go further and did not send anything to NVC as yet.

Do I need a lawyer or I can do it myself?

Can we move to US and apply for adjustment of status in this stage?

What is the the best way for us, conular processing or adjustment of status?

Do you know any good lawyer just in case we decide to get a lawyer to do the job?

Thank you,

Your help is so much appreciated,

Hi,

If you have a straight forward case, there's really no need for a lawyer.

To do an adjustment of status you would need to be in the US and you can't enter the US on VWP or tourist visa with the intention of immigrating since it's constituted as fraud and is illegal.

Again, consular processing would be the way to go.

Here's a very very helpful guide on the NVC process. If you follow it carefully, it should be smooth sailing: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
