Questions regarding evidence (split topic)

Hi! I'm still preparing to send out our I-130 now and just am trying to double and triple check it all before I mail it.

We've been married since 1996 and we have always lived together, always shared finances, cars, home, etc. My husband had his green card from 1997 until we moved out of the USA (to Israel) in 2009. Now his green card is no longer valid since he lived outside of the US for so long (more than one or two years) for no special reason. So - my question is - do I need to submit anything more other than our marriage certificate and our son's birth certificate? I'm just re-reading the directions on the form and it says,

"In addition to the required documentation listed above, you should submit one or more of the following types of documentation that may evidence the bona fides of your marriage."

H. Birth certificate of children born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together.

The thing is - all our bills are in Hebrew and I'd have to pay a pretty high price (for me, anyways) to have them translated.

Would photos of us all together do any good?

Should I ask my parents and siblings in the US to write letters on our behalf and get them notarized?

Of course I don't want our application delayed or refused ...

Any thoughts for me?

Answers:

• You don't have to translate the bills, just explain what they are. If you do decide to translate, you can do it yourself and sign the attestation statement.
• Photos are good.
• Letters carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file.
