We're getting ready to move our household goods (from storage unit in Canada to storage in US).

Some questions,

The beneficiary might not have received the visa at the time of the move, so instead of waiting for that, and providing moving company (probably Allied or Atlas) with proof of visa blah blah.

1)

We'd like to fill out the form 3299 only in the name of the US Citizen spouse (also checkmark on Returning resident of the US, All personal effects for which free entry is sought were taken abroad by me or for my account). All our furniture, clothing etc is stuff that me and my USC spouse brought to Canada years ago.

Do we just give the 3299 to the moving company, copy of her US passport and that is all the customs clearing we need to do? Does the USC spouse need to visit a customs office in the US to clear the goods after they arrive in the US?

2)

Our stuff is in a 20x10 storage, How much detail should be included on 3299 about the household goods?

is this level of detail enough:

10 boxes of clothing

4 boxes of kitchen stuff

3 boxes of tools

bedroom furniture set

living room furniture set

Thanks for your insight
