RFE questions

I'm the petitioner (USC) filing the I-864 affidavit of Support for my wife. We received an RFE with the following which i'm not sure why:

1. Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, was submitted; however, page 3, part 4 of the petitioner/sponsor's Form I-864 list someone other than the petitioner/sponsor or Page 3, Part 4 is blank

The issue is the name, my name, is the name listed on page 3 part 4. I also did fill out page 3 and all of part 4.... so i'm not sure what they are looking for here? Any ideas?

2. Form I-864 Affidavit of Support was submitted from a joint sponsor; however, the names listed on page 1 and page 3 are not the same.

Again i am the only sponsor and checked 1a in part 1. The name on page 3 is also the name i wrote on page 1 as the petitioner. Am i missing something here? Or did USCIS make a mistake?

So, you did not use a joint sponsor? And the information they are asking for is correct and filled in properly? If all that is the case, then it could be a mistake. You can make an Infopass appointment to go in and ask about the mistake, showing them the copies of the form you submitted. You can also call and ask to have your call escalated to speak to an actual immigration officer about your case's specific problem.

Yeah i figured it was an error on there part. I'll try to call them and see what they say.

I received the same RFE as you did. Turned out my husband accidentally missed to fill in his name at page 3 part 4 at the bottom left side, I sent in a revised I-864.

Check if Family name and Given name is opposite, sometimes minor mistake like this may happen.

thanks i checked my form and i did fill in the first, middle and last name correctly on page 3 part 4. It also matches exactly from the name on page 1 question 1. Anyhow i made a infopass appointment for last this week and hopefully we'll get this sorted out quickly.

Hi Steftlin - did you get the issue of the page 3 part 4 name resolved. I too had receive the same letter, i filed for my parents and had my name as the sponsor. I resubmitted the information again making sure all parts were filled correctly, only to receive a second RFE stating that i did not meet the income guidelines so need a joint sponsor.

yes i got the issue resolved. I pretty much just resubmitted my i-864 again with state and fed tax returns (1040 and 540), and w2. I guess they wanted the actual returns instead of just the transcripts that i originally submitted if that even made a difference. Ours was processed and we got our AOS interview date scheduled. You may want to make an infopass and go talk to an officer if you think they had a mistake. I know they definitely made a mistake on ours since i met the min income requirements so we didn't need like joint sponsor like the RFE stated.

I got the exact RFE asking two items. Did you write a letter of explanation on your RFE PAGE 3 PART 4 BLANK? Or you just sent a new complted set with rfe letter attched? How about the sponsor's name on page 12 part 11? I didn't realize it's auto delete on page 3 when you leave it blank. Thanks!
