If I were still a Muslim, and ran for the President of the United States, does that mean I would uphold Sharia law if elected?

And for the record, I wasn't forced to convert. I made the choice on my own. I did the research and knew what I was getting into before I made the switch.

So you're comparing all Muslims to those that do these barbaric things?

All Islamic countries who practice Islamic Sharia law do those things. Including Malaysia, which explains your conversion.

No you were not forced to choose who you got married to but your marriage in her home country would not be valid and she would be labeled adulteress if you did not convert.

Call it something else if it makes you feel better but don't attach labels to people who don't think that is right.

Sister religions. Same god. Same modus operandi.

Yep

I thought it was ..

Two wrongs don't make a right my momma used to say

Funny, my momma said the same thing. I never wiggled out of anything by demonstrating (sometimes eloquently) that other people do it too.

Yeap, blame Islam because this was a Soviet, originated practice happening in Christian countries. Kyrgystan is part Muslim part Russian Orthodox. Bridal Kidnapping is practiced there by the locals.

Except the issue here is not bride kidnapping but thanks for playing "covering up hypocrisy" and have a good day

You're not the one who gets to see the religious police knock some girl around in the mall because too much of her face is showing or she wore too much makeup. Hypocrisy is defending the only one in this room who labels "islamophobe" to anyone who does not want to export that to the US and vote for it.

Show me where I defended it and I'll give you a cookie.

You didn't answer my question. If I were a Muslim running for President, does that automatically mean I'm going to bring Sharia Law into effect here in the US.

And not all Muslims follow Sharia law. As evident here in the US.

You can't bring Sharia law into the US but presidents are elected on character and due to your personal, self-identified belief system I would not vote for you for president.

What's evident in the US is that our constitution is working. Thank goodness for that. It keeps everyone in check and I can't fathom (though there is a lot of history to visit) a "government by evangelicals" either.

Under a Marvin administration a woman would certainly learn her place though right? LOL

Malaysian women say caning for adultery was “good” for them

One comment removed. Lets not make this personal.

Sorry

I agree. However, you guys are the ones pretending non-Islamic countries don't have problems.

Show me one single comment on this thread where anyone said or implied non-Islamic countries don't have problems and I'll give you a cookie

Well, when people start losing they result to insults and personal attacks. Such monstrous behavior and quite sad.

Thanks Gandd

I'd be willing to bet money that would be more likely to pass with if we were to have Canadian Rafael Eduardo for president and all the cockamamie mythology the evangelical in him has to offer.

I don't agree. A president of the United States, any president, should be able to check his religion at the door and defend the Constitution, that guarantees us separation between church and state. Freedom of religion, and freedom from religion, whichever the individual's persuasion. All you need is the ability to think critically as an academic. The president doesn't need to support and espouse all the laws of our country, only to support them as they are written and enacted.

Yeah you should know up front that you can't run as a Muslim and espouse women's rights and gay rights at the same time. That's the whole point of this thread train. See earlier post on credibility.

Since you want to carry this further you should know that lack of interest in your cookies is not an attack. I'm not sorry for that lack of interest.

Unfortunately you are right. Founding a country with a cornerstone of removing religion from government due to experience with religious persecution doesn't stop the religious majority from trying.

Why? A Christian in the White House is espousing gay marriage and they haven't strung him up yet when the bible has made it clear as day how homosexuality is looked upon.

So you are not a Muslim any longer ?

No.

Third time: Focus hard. Credibility.

No? Take a serious tip. Don't ever, ever say that you were Muslim but are not anymore in a Muslim country.

Islam is a one-way street. But you knew that when you got into it so it's all good. The Apostasy laws are brutal.
