Not the point. Stay with it.

They have one leading the race right now but again not the point. Take a good look at the dems(talk about "old white people). Now take a look at the GOP. Where's the diversity, libs?

The dems just gave us the first black President and are on the verge of giving us the first female President and you're complaining about the lack of diversity in the democratic party?

What's the point Ortiz? We have a black Democratic President. There's the diversity. Where is a minority president on the GOP side? Not the one leading the polls, but the one who WON and became president.

Take your time with that.

All Muslims aren't religious fundamentals. A Muslim can stand for women rights. Don't know why you can't see that.

So the dems gave us the first black president, the GOP only has someone leading in the polls.

You'd think it was the American people who voted him in, no? Not one particular party.

Oh but wait, Americans are racist.

I find it interesting that not only the first black president is being brought into this convo as a plus on the dems side(even though the American people are the ones who put him in power) but also slavery was brought into the same thread,

Guess what? Do you know who freed the slaves?

Hint: It wasn't the dems.

She will never be president.

She will never be president.

Let's not change the subject. Whether or not she becomes President is beside the point. You're stating that the dems lack in diversity, that simply isn't true. The dems just gave us the first black President and the democratic front runner for President right now is a woman, it doesn't get much more diverse than that.

Well, to be fair, you're the one who asked the question. Your comment about the GOP and diversity left you wide open since they have NEVER appointed a minority as president. Had Obama not ran and run in 2008, Carson, Cain, or any other person would had been accepted. Even women started running after Obama/Clinton, before then the only minority person that ran on the GOP side was Alan Keyes back in the 90's. Whereas there have been minorities running for President on the Democratic side starting back in the 70's. Shirley Chisholm to be exact. First black woman to run for President, on the Dem side. Just like Tim Scott and Mia Love are the first black people to win on the GOP side (Scott in over 100 years, Love is the first ever, yet the GOP doesn't have a problem with diversity. SMH)

Everyone knows the Republicans were for black people before the Southern Strategy. No one is debating that, but you seem desperate to win the argument. Unless you have a Delorean or a Tardis and can go back in time to have the GOP elect a minority president, you've lost this one.

But, if you want to keep putting your foot in your mouth, by all means, don't let facts and logic stop you. I'm here all week Mr. Moderate.

He has to change it. His claim doesn't make sense without warping the narrative. Now he's going back to the Party of Lincoln Republicans as an excuse.

The thing about going that far back in time is that the parties stances on the issues were completely different back then. It's long been said that the Republicans of yesteryear are today's democrats and vice versa. So the argument that the Republicans were the party that freed the slaves is correct in name only, because the Republican party of Lincoln's time was nowhere near the Republican party of today.

Mr. Moderate is correct, I am glad you have finally come to terms with that.

As for the rest of what you said - this is a pointless discussion that's already sucked up way more of my time than I originally intended it to, Obviously I'm not desperate to win no argument(for one there really isn't one for me that I need to win) because the stage is all yours. :)

No more like an admission that there's nothing left for me to win....

You're trying to argue that Republicans support diversity more than Democrats. Of course it's a pointless discussion. It was from the start.

Me calling you Mr. Moderate was sarcasm, but it's ok that went over your head.

Guess you don't want to discuss this anymore since your answers really don't make any sense. Thanks for playing. Maybe next week we can debate on something with a bit more of a challenge.

We can debate "women's rights under Islamic principles" in places where they are in charge.

Moroccan actress Lubna Abidar, star of the controversial movie "Much Loved" has been severely beaten in Casablanca sparking an outcry on social media over social taboos that activists say can be enforced by violence. Lubna said that the police and hospital workers refused to help her, in addition to insulting and humiliating her.

A Klansman can stand for civil rights too but I'm not voting for one.

What Klansman stands for civil rights? Please find me one.

Sure. But I hope you can keep up since it's been shown that once you've been proven wrong you tend to leave the thread.

Exactly why I won't vote for a klansman. Or a muslim.

You do realize that an article about women talking about how badly Muslim women are treated by Muslim men doesn't really change anything I have said right?

I leave a thread when I have something else to do and come back or not. "Winning on VJ" is not all that important. That might explain why I'm still married huh.

With that said: The concern for women in Islam always touches me.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/29/us-saudi-driving-idUSBRE98S04B20130929

A campaign calling for women to defy the ban in a protest drive on October 26 has spread rapidly online over the past week and gained support from some prominent women activists. On Sunday, the campaign's website was blocked inside the kingdom.

In an interview published on Friday on the website sabq.org, Sheikh Saleh bin Saad al-Lohaidan said women aiming to overturn the ban on driving should put "reason ahead of their hearts, emotions and passions".

Reuters earlier wrongly identified him as Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed al-Lohaidan, a member of the Senior Council of Scholars, one of the top religious bodies in the birthplace of Islam.

By contrast, Sheikh Saleh bin Saad al-Lohaidan, the person quoted in the sabq.org report, is a judicial adviser to an association of Gulf psychologists.

His comments reflect the extent of opposition to women driving among some conservatives in Saudi Arabia.

"If a woman drives a car, not out of pure necessity, that could have negative physiological impacts as functional and physiological medical studies show that it automatically affects the ovaries and pushes the pelvis upwards," he told Sabq.

WOW. Look what these highly learned Islamic scholars have to offer to us! Of course, they don't mind pushing the pelvis upwards if it's the household help......

Ain't voting for that

Have a look at some Muslims beating and whipping some black folks. This is today, not 150 years ago on the plantation.

Ain't voting for that either

There are literally thousands of these examples. You really want to play this?

Aren't you married to a Muslim woman? But then again, to each it's own.

There are millions of Muslims living here who don't do these things, are we just going to ignore them?

Also, there's a big difference between black people and Ethiopians. Just like I'm not from Africa. If we're going to keep this dance up, you might want to learn that all dark skinned people aren't black people.
