There's a cool idea. Hold the people who landed in a place with thriving slave markets accountable for slavery and leave out all mention of the markets themselves.

They're equally accountable, and should be equally mentioned.

Yep, so why are you so quick to point out the African Muslims, but not the European Christians who had no issues carrying on with such an atrocious method?

Never even implied so.

Slavery and discrimination in the US was practiced by Christians and the slaves were sold to them by Muslims. The Christians have long since abolished this but the Muslim practice of and engagement in slavery is still, today, alive and well.

It is hypocritical for a Muslim to feign concern for long-abolished practices while today, currently, fundamental Islamic law allows and encourages the practice. Furthermore, it is hypocritical for someone who IS concerned about past practices of slavery and discrimination to embrace Islam where slavery is active and legally practiced.

Are there Muslims here practicing slavery?

I was horrible in bible lessons. I don't even believe they should teach bible in schools. Unless it's a religious, private school.

I think every Jihadi on the planet started off in a religious, private school. Bad idea.

Yep, never said it wasn't. But there seems to be this strong push to look at it everywhere EXCEPT here in the US.

I feel like it's exactly the opposite of that statement.

I would dare say that true Christians would and should have put a stop to slavery, rather than succumbing to and embracing it. It's no different than undocumented immigrants who come to America. It's really not their fault they stay, and we shouldn't hold hold them accountable for having landed in a place with thriving job markets and opportunities.

Well lets agree it shouldn't be in public schools to start with for sure.

But now if you don't let them teach the koran in a religious private school do you let Christians or Jews run their private schools the way they want to?

I'm focusing on the African Muslims because you were whining about why a Muslim can't be elected to office and it took 19 pages to explain it to you. They still do it, now and today, while the christian slave trade was abolished decades ago and that is why my comment is relevant and your reference to 100 years ago is not.

Well there is this guy

Innocently wondering if you need more examples? It's so common, so ingrained, that they're puzzled thinking they haven't done anything wrong.

The mosques have private Islamic schools as do the churches and Synagogues and they can do as they wish. I was making a joke dude.

So you're focusing on African Muslims, why aren't you talking about Muslim Americans? The ones who are eligible to run for office?

I ask again, what American Muslims are practicing slavery here in the US?

I feel like it's exactly the opposite of that statement.

People living here that were affected by it are looking at what goes on here. Which is strange given that if it's something positive in another country, we're told to go live there. But slavery? Let's look at everyone except the ones who enforced it here in this country.

I ask again, what American Muslims are practicing slavery here in the US?

As pointed out on page 2, these comments apply to all countries where Muslims are in charge, not just African countries.

They are not in charge so no, they cannot follow these practices in the US, as visitors who come to the US from countries where they are in charge learn to their misfortune.

Not wanting them in charge, no I would not vote for one. When and if I return home I will have had enough of that.

People living here that were affected by it are looking at what goes on here. Which is strange given that if it's something positive in another country, we're told to go live there. But slavery? Let's look at everyone except the ones who enforced it here in this country.

Your efforts to divert attention from slavery today by focusing on slavery 150 years ago are admirable but not achieving the diversion. Your embrace of the belief system behind today's slavery does not help your credibility on this issue either and just because Christians were doing it 150 years ago or Orthodox do it in former USSR republics does not justify your embrace of it today.

I don't think being told "if you don't like America then you should move" is limited to blacks. I believe you brought up American slavery when someone else mentioned active slavery in Islamic countries. Don't we have a responsibly to people alive and suffering right at this moment to give this problem our attention? Why does acknowledging it have to have some many strings. These are humans suffering, right now. That, to me, makes it more important than people who are already dead.

We should give attention to all people suffering. However, people want to focus on Islamic countries only. Not on everyone, like China, or countries practicing bridal kidnapping, etc.

:ot:

No it isn't. In the land of the free, you can so called do anything with hard work, except be a muslim American president.

I think there's a bit more going on to cause this than their religion. The Koran only gives "justification" to something they would be doing anyway. You could use the bible in the same way if you wanted really. Fortunately, us first world halfway Christians choose to ignore the rotten bits of the bible. The middle east needs a Magna Carta type of event. If people there thought they had basic human rights as a guarantee, I think things would change.

Agree and I also think the ruling class uses it to keep the people under control, Now the hard line ayatollah type nut jobs are a different story
