K1 Visa Interview Location Change?

Hi, I just got notice that our K1 application is being forwarded from NVC to Sydney and that is where the interview location is. All the documents we submitted shows my fiancee living (present and past) in Perth. Does this happen often? It's like saying I live in San Francisco and have to have an interview in New York... Is this easy to change at this point in time?

It happened with our case in India. We wrote Chennai for our choice of consulate, but our case is sent to Mumbai, quite a distance away from Chennai. We found that Chennai consulate does not deal with K1 visas!! Hence our case was routed to Mumbai!

Maybe that is the case with the consulates in Australia too?

Hey hey,

Sydney is the only consulate that does the interviews. I'll be travelling from Melbourne for mine.

Your fiancee can do her medical in Perth though!

Unfortunately, all K-1 interviews in Australia are conducted in Sydney. (See the K-1 page on the US Embassy in Australia's website, which only mentions Sydney, and VJ threads like this one).

I'm going to move your thread to the Australia and New Zealand regional forum, because it's country-specific rather than relating to generic K-1 processes. Good luck with your immigration journey!

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

- Topic moved from K-1 Fiancee Visa Process and Procedures to Australia and New Zealand regional forum -

- Question is country-specific, not related to general K-1 processes, and may get better answers in the regional forum -
