First let me say that does not mean you have a serious sickness and second they changed the way they do the dr visit in Dakar. Others have experienced the same thing before and he was told this before he did any test. He went back to try and get results and shot only to be told the same thing again. He was also not allowed to test early only 5 days ahead of the interview.

ONLY 5 days before interview?? But the exams/reports last 6 months. Hmmm....

I was also under the impression that you could do the medical 2 weeks ahead, but when he went early he was turned around. I called and he also made a special trip from Gambia to try and get the medical done but was told it had changed the way it was done. Dr Rahmi told him first and then the second dr said the same thing. We didnt check the third dr on the list, so I am not sure about her.

I was informed that the female doctor's office only speaks Wolof and French so I am going to have my husband make an appointment with her since he speaks Wolof.

I personally do not want to deal with the BS from Dr. Bahsoun.

I too am personally confused about when to do the medical exam on an expedited case. I previously understood that we have to have an interview date before making the appointment.

Hi all ,

I did my medical Exam on october 27. I broght All results to the doctor on October 29. (Clinic casahous)

And they told me to come back for result on november 20 After my interview :ranting::ranting:

I was very surprise, i did my exam very Quick in order to bring result at the interview.

I said to the guy that i can't understand why i have to come back after my interview i need my results before the interview.

he go back to the doctor office , And tell me to come back the day before my Interview.

For all people that i found there, they told them to come back afer their interview for the results

So for those who have to do medical please plan to do it at least 3 week before your interview if you want to have your results at time.

Hope you understand, my English is not good.

What results exactly did they tell you to come back for and did you leave the appointment with anything in your hand?

Hi all,

My husband will be interviewing from Dakar, right now our case is with the NVC, we have already received instructions for more documents required, and sent them - they are saying our 30 days will for review will expire on the 16 of this month. He is Nigerian, living in Dakar so we are just looking here for any advice on a few topics -

1. I have read some conflicting things as to if I am allowed with him into the interview or if it will be beneficial for me to be there during the time?

2. I have also wondered about the Dr. appointment situation - I am reading two different things - that we should schedule the appointment two to three weeks prior to the interview, then some saying that we shouldn't do any sooner than 5 days? He has recently had a full check up and is healthy so we do not anticipate any problems - also what is the vaccination they require? Any recommendations on Dr that he should avoid?

3. If your case was expedited at the NVC, can you please tell me how/why it was as we are told now that we have submitted everything there is nothing we can do but wait.

4. Is the two week wait time for an appointment to be issued after approval at NVC still what everyone is experiencing? If so how far out were your appointments when you received them? I tried looking at timelines but i am a bit confused on some of them.

Also, should he expect to bring my income information to them for a spousal visa? I was thinking that the income portion was something that was already approved by the time he gets to the appointment stage.

All of this is so nerve racking - we are really hoping to be done with this in time for him to be home for Christmas - Lord willing we will finally make it through this :clock: , thanks for any additional advice!

Applicants should make an appointment at least five (5) working days prior to their interview with one of the above physicians and present one picture which shall be affixed on the medical report by the Doctor. Applicants must bring their passports. Refugees must bring a document with their picture for verification of their identity. If the doctor finds no medical conditions which would preclude the issuance of a visa, he will return the form DS-2053 and the test results to the applicant. If there are questions about the medical results, the doctor will send the report directly to the Embassy.

Well the embassy called Iffy today and asked him to bring his passport and original birth certificate on a Tuesday or Thursday. However they called him back, but the network was bad and he didnt hear what was said, could it be they changed their mind again? I plan to call in the morning to see if I can get some answers to what the second call was for. I did see an update on the ceac website so maybe its a good thing. I truly pray so.
