I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I knew no other way than this, where 'I' does not exist, nor 'you'. So close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

I don't think I submitted that much evidence as far as communicatons.

What does the 221g form says?

Did you try to call the consulate yourself to inquire about the case and what kind and how much more pages they need?

Do you think there was a red flag ?if yes what was it?

To best assist you we need to know more

If you go to the embassy, they are not going to let you in. You will need to wait outside. Only the beneficiary will be able to enter.

Did you get a form stating that they would call your for another interview or appointment? If so, you will need to follow the instructions here:

http://dakar.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/eligibility-review-unit.html

They will respond to you with the status of your case.

I was in the same situation as you and i've realized that if they don't feel they have enough marriage evidence and approve you on the spot after returning more evidence. they deny the visa and return the case to immigration suggesting that your petition be revoked. Once the case is returned, you will receive a notice in the mail with the findings of the consulate. At that time, you can respond and return all the evidence you have. Then, immigration reviews to see if they agree with your or the consulate. if they agree with you, they send it back to nvc and the embassy for a 2nd interview.

I wish I had know sooner but it's best to "front load" submit all of your marriage evidence to NVC rather than waiting until you get to the interview stage. The consulate doesn't have to accept or review the marriage evidence that you bring even though it may be valid, especially since they view these countries as high fraud. Once you get to the interview stage and bring docs after being asked to bring more they suspect that the docs could be purchased off the streets.

I've seen people in the thread having difference experiences but it depends on what's being requested.

I suggest contacting your senator and congressman. We were on ap for one month before they called my fiance to bring his passport. I also wrote an email every week asking for an update on whats going on, because the 221g didnt tell us anything.

@momov31. i think that's the difference. What they gave you didn't have anything on the 221g. Maybe they were just waiting to receive the medical. But, It's a different ball game when they are reviewing whether your marriage is for the petitioner to get a visa.

I'm not an expert and it's hard to tell in the forum because you don't know exactly why others were on AP. But I definitely know that the lady in Dakar likes lots of photos for marriage evidence over anything else.

It doesn't hurt to contact your congressperson but you'll save a lot of headache to email the embassy at the link i sent with the proper subject line if you got that letter. I had contacted my congress person on Dec 3rd when I got the we'll contact you letter after returning additional evidence. The embassy responded on dec 22nd that the case went back to immigration on Nov 20th. And, i should wait 6 weeks for immigration to receive it.

Hi everyone.

I hope your new year is off to a good start.

Sorry everyone is having such difficulties with the Dakar Embassy.

They can truly be unpredictable.

The only advice I have, as mine and my husband's case was pretty smooth...be sure to frontload and bring more pictures to the interview.

If you have already made it to the NVC stage and have not submitted more documents...keep in mind that by the time your ceac.state.gov visa case status checker says ready...the Embassy has already made their decision. So if you can, where it says submit evidence on the checklist...submit more evidence that NVC can forward to the Embassy which will be included with your file from USCIS.

So...it's obvious now that the Dakar Embassy's consulate officers are visual people...they want to see different types of evidences...most importantly pictures.

That's what I submitted...not just viber...or Facebook...or pictures...
I submitted his name on a life incusrance policy and affidavits...among other things.

Good luck!

This thread maybe helpful to someone in the future. It's a post about the 221g and exactly what it entails.

Is there anyone else with an appointment this month? My husband goes on the 21st. He saw Dr. Kane and is supposed to pick up his packet tomorrow. In all he had to make several trips to different offices for x-ray, exam, and immunizations.

I am curious to know who if any of you hired a lawyer to walk you through this process?
