Hi,

I wanted to start a thread where all of those who have been thru the interview process in Dakar, Senegal can share their experiences in one thread.

Even if you have not yet been thru the Dakar embassy, share your experiences.

My husband is Gambian, which is why I am personally interested.

But if you are like me, got your case expedited and once the case was forwarded to NVC, you entered the black hole/grey area in regards to getting an interview date...share your experience please.

If you had a normal processing and ended up waiting months before having the interview, then share your experiences here too.

The good, the bad, the ugly.

This is for fiance and spouse visas.

wouldn't it be more appropriate for users to leverage the existing mechanism already provided w/in VJ?

Oh wow, sorry to hear.

But thanks for sharing!

I am still gathering proof now...most importantly financial proof but my husband is more concerned about pictures and affidavits.

I read that they really look into the financial evidence. My situation is not so easy, even with a joint sponsor, so I am more focused on that.

Yea they look into it , you have to make sure you make a lot money or your co sponsor can meet poverty guidelines for spouse visa , your husband need to bring pics to the interview and the conversation , I mean charts , I printed almost 400 copies from what's app viber magic jack emails and my wife kids write a letter and notorized it , but they didn't look at the letters , all they after is pics chart , like old charts

Its on the front header/tool bar on its own button/link. Not sure how it could be any clearer.

Its clearly an inherent part of VJ. The site is much for feature rich than a vanilla message board. And using these tools helps the metrics and keep things organized. The stats, reviews, trends...etc are in integral value people get from participating and contributing on VJ.

Just to clarify for anyone else...

I started this thread as a conversation thread...for us (Dakar embassy attendees) to talk about what is not already stated in the timeline's reviews.

There are some experiences that were not even mentioned, so if you are willing, please share them here.

Hi everyone, My fiancee had his interview today in Dakar and he was given a 221g with two things underlined. The co asked him all the basic questions such as where did we meet and when did I visit him. He said the co took all the docs from him along with the pictures and only gave him his passport and the 221g. He was told they need to review and need more documents. However they did not say what documents, but told him they would call him. Oh the co asked for his phone number again and where is he living in Gambia. My fiance did his medical but the dr didnt give him anything to take to the embassy, they told him that the process changed and that the embassy would give him a paper to bring if they needed the medical. The co also told him that the medical was not needed at this time. That confused me. Also this is my second time filing for a k1 and his second time being applied for. I applied for my ex in 2009 and we separated in March of 2014, but the divorce was final in June of 2014. I met my fiance in july of 2014 and visited him in Feb of 2015 for two weeks. I am 6 years older than he is, so I dont think age is a factor on this petition. He will upload a copy to me tomorrow when he returns to Gambia and I can get a better idea of what is going on. Right now the CEAC says Administrative Processing. How can I get more information on what documents that are needed and what the review is about? Oh the k1 his ex did on him did not get completed as he didnt attend the interview because they broke up. His relationship with her started in 2011 and ended in 2012 and the co asked him about her and how many times I was married. I just did a cut and paste as I didn't feel like writing it again. Right now we are just waiting and getting the same email each week.

it is kind of fishy as to why they would not say anything as to why not.

Have you tried calling the embassy?

have you tried getting a representative involved?

I have a feeling the previous relationships have a bit to do with it...

I read on here about a Ghana case in which one had a previous relationship which went thru the system and was denied or delayed.

Thanks for the info.

My joint sponsor's income is doubled the poverty line.

I provided with our skype chat history.

I sent 10 images. My husband plans to print more from our wedding.

He will also have written affidavits (letters) from our wedding attendees

I also provide the friendship faecbook page of ours.

Well I got a response from the embassy, however still no clue as to the reason we were placed on AP. Yes I know about the red flags and all, but still very disheartening to be in limbo with no reason why. I feel lost because if I had a clue as to something I could work towards fixing it, but as it stands right now I am just completely heart broken. Here is what the email said: Greetings,

Thank you for your email. At this point, there is no need for another interview or any other documents. The consular officer will review the case accordingly. Once, it is complete, Mr. Obilom will be contacted.

I have contacted my senator to see if he can get a better understanding and yes I know I have to wait.

This is the 221g that was given to him and I am praying what ever they are researching ends very soon. The dr circled in red where the co circled in blue, when my fiance went to get medical again from them. The dr said he couldnt give him the medical until the embassy request it from him.post-62476-0-04261400-1446531296_thumb.jpg

Maybe it is something wrong with the medical exam.

Have you been able to contact the doctor?
