Hello Everyone,

So my son who is currently outside the US and in which we are applying for an F2A just received the welcome letter from NVC (dated Sep 2015 - took 2 month to arrive at the foreign address) stating the usual select an agent pay your bills and submit the supporting docs. I am a bit confused since his priority date should not be current for another 6 to 7 month from now. below is the dates of the application progress.

10/2014 sent i130 for F2A

11/2014 priority date assigned

03/2015 application approved

11/2015 received welcome letter from NVC dated 09/2015

I checked on the Nov 2015 visa bulletin and they are currently serving May 2015 dates so my son's priority date wont be current until summer 2016.....why did NVC send the documents early? or is this the norm?

should I start to pay the fees and gather the documents and send them to NVC now? or should I wait closer to the priority date becoming current?

Also why did they send the documents to the foreign address? on all the mail correspondence I asked them to send it to my US address, I am very surprised that the postal service actually worked were my son is at because 90% of the time it gets lost.

Thanks for your help and input

Act quickly. this is norm they contact before 6-7 months. Whole immigration process takes time.

it's normal, we receive the same thing, my mother applied for my brother, so we already submitted AOS and paid the fee and also select choice of agent. go a head and pay fee and send the Affidavit of support. it will take another two to three month for them to review the documents and complete the case, and another two month to schedule the interview.
