Did not get back birth certificate

I had my interview a few days ago. However when I got home I realized that I (benificiary) did not get back my birth certificate as it was requested at my interview. It is an original copy. Is that normal, do I get it back in the package when my visa is delivered to me? any similar experience let me know ASAP please.

What you submit becomes part of your file that goes to USCIS and will be passed along as you reach the adjustment of status phase, etc. It's always suggested that you bring the original for verification and a photocopy for submission.

Get a couple more official copies of your birth certificate to take with you to the US. That way you won't have to scramble if you need one later.

Yep, you will not get it back, get more before you move because eventually you will need copies for the rest of the process even though they have it in your file

It is ow a part of your permanent USCIS file. You can file to get it back, but its easier just to purchase new copies.

I had to submit all my originals (plus a photocopy) of my birth certificate, divorce certificate, police certificates etc prior to my interview at Frankfurt consulate and they gave all my originals back at the interview.

i have several Birth certificates as Morocco kept an original when i married and i have had several made for immigraiton. sometimes paperwork gets lost in the system. Get yourself several made and when your mate comes to the US make sure they have at least 5 there are so many time you will have to use them

You need 2 original birth certificates. One to give at your interview and one to bring with you to the USA. I do know a VJ whose fiancé was able to get his back from the sealed envelope but it was a major hassle. I highly recommend getting another one from the RGD before leaving JA.

Yes i have experience this, they never give you back your originals, I am out of originals when i did my paper work they kept it , my daught just did her interview and they did not give it back, i will have to visit RGD when i go down to get some more.
