Specifically I am looking to find out how long people have spent in AP in Egypt. Is there a record of this kept anywhere....and is it really mandatory AP for everyone or just a select few?

It varies from case to case. If the beneficiary is male, Muslim, and has a common name (like Ahmad or Mohamed) then expect the AP to take awhile.

was handed the 221 g slip ......... i send the papers they wanted on the 10 th of nov..........now after almost a week i cant see any updates in the date of my case status that means they havnt touched it yet ............. is that normal to leave that all that time and noit even open it to start the process....is that normal
