WHAT DO I DO NOW THAT 129F AND I130 ARE APPROVED?

HELLO!

our forms have just been approved, both the I-129f and the I-130. what shall we do now? Can my husband go to the embassy now and file for the K-3 visa or do we have to wait until the consulate in ghana receives the petition from the nvc? i am a bit confused and i want to get everything done as fast as possible. PLEASE HELP!!!

2/27/07--approved (via email)

1/6/07--I-129F mailed

1/29/07-- Case transferred to Vermont Service Center

2/8/07--touched

2/28/08--approved (via email)

3/1/07- Case transferred to NVC

3/12/07- Case forwarded to US Embassy In Ghana

4/17/07- Packet 3 received (my husband picked it up in accra)

4/25/07- Packet 4 received

8/20/07- Medical (Part I- Vaccinations/ Physical)

8/28/07- Medical (Part II- X-Rays/ Blood Work)

9/12/07- Picked up Medical Results

9/13/07- SUCESSFUL K-3 INTERVIEW!!!!!!

9/21/07- PICK UP VISA!!!

10/7/07- POE=JFK

10/30/07- EAD application received at Vermont Service Center

3/10/08- FINALLY APPROVED AFTER 4 MONTHS! (THANK GOD!)

3/15/08- CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL!!!

5/30/08 My husband started working!

3/12/09- Mailed out AOS papers

7/15/09-Initial interview in NYC = Success!!!

7/25/09- received 10 year green card in the mail! (YES!)

Congrats, but you still have a ways to go :)

The I130 will most likely be retained, and the I129F will be forwarded to the NVC and then shortly forwarded to the consulate. The consulate will forward a packet of instructions to your husband.

If I were you, the first thing I'd do is jump for joy.

Then I'd start making sure that all the documents you need to get for your spouse's interview are in order. You've got quite a bit of work to do. The guides should be useful.

5-15-2002 Met, by chance, while I traveled on business

3-15-2005 I-129F
9-18-2005 Visa in hand
11-23-2005 She arrives in USA
1-18-2006 She returns to Russia, engaged but not married

11-10-2006 We got married!

2-12-2007 I-130 sent by Express mail to NSC
2-26-2007 I-129F sent by Express mail to Chicago lock box
6-25-2007 Both NOA2s in hand; notice date 6-15-2007
9-17-2007 K3 visa in hand
11-12-2007 POE Atlanta

8-14-2008 AOS packet sent

1-30-2009 AOS interview
2-12-2009 10-yr Green Card arrives in mail

It depends. What is more important for both of you? To be quickly united or to get the green card and avoid adjustment of status? There are other PROs and CONs from what I read as well beside the longer wait time for the I-130 process.

Anyway, since you got both petitions approved, the I129F will be processed first with the NVC and sent to the consulate to arrange for more docs and interview. As everyone says, there's still more to go... but great to hear approvals!!!! best of luck! :thumbs:
