An IR-1 green card is issued for 10 years. A CR-1 green card is issued for 2 years, and you must apply for a 10-year green card after the two year period.

I will elaborate: and go through the process of Removal of Conditions, by proving your marriage still lasts and is still bona fide :)

Yo are putting way to much into something that really doesn't matter No color makes you trustworthy. Just don;t have a red tie. Follow the examples of world leaders. Blue, Blue Blue. They only wear red when its about to go down and get ugly.

You want to be comfortable and free at your interview not concerned with OMG do my colors make me look honest. They aren't checking out your color skim. They want to know if you are a bonafide coupe in a real marriage with evidence to prove it.

That all does matter for me. I have this routine preparing for important events in my life, first of all by looking like a million bucks :) It has always helped me, and, hopefully, will help my husband too.

I randomly checked CEAC tonight and wow to my surprise, it says issued!

Wow! This journey is soon to be over!

My husband picks up passport with visa in it on Tuesday the 24th, and he flies out the 29th to arrive into my arms on December 1st!! :joy:

In the sense of wearing nice and clean clothes, yes of course it matters at the visa interview. But you're not gonna get an approval because you're wearing a suite and tie, just like you won't get denied because you're wearing clean jeans and a shirt....

Of course they do, for the COs are allowed to use their gut feeling to make the judgement.

Dressed in what makes someone comfortable is the most important thing. If you dress in what you're not used to and what makes you feel uncomfortable, you may be more nervous, start fidgeting, start focusing on what you're wearing rather than the actual interview etc etc... There's like a tone of research done on this topic. People are comfortable in different outfits, so everyone should dress in what's comfortable for them. If you love wearing skirts, dresses and suites, wear something like that for the visa interview. If you're a jeans girl/boy, wear jeans and a nice shirt/sweeter. That's my two cents anyway. :)

Let me tell you my story.

My husband decided to wear a suit at the interview to give a good impression to the CO. Our interview was in Rio, which is, in my humble opinion, one of the most laid back places I've ever been in the world. That is, not a place where you would need to dress up.

But I know it meant a lot to him. And he knows how the culture is in the US way better than I ever could. So I thought it was sweet of him and encouraged him.

HOWEVER

I gained a lot of weight this year because I got really stressed with the immigration process and leaving my stupid work. So probably all my super fancy clothes do not fit me. And I was a pile of nerves, so the last place I wanted to be one day before the interview would be at a shopping mall trying to find something that would fit me.

So I told him I would wear jeans and a blouse, and he was fine with it.

He looked pretty sharp and I looked pretty plain. The CO didn't really give him a lot of attention at the interview and had a poker face during the whole time. But we were approved.

So, I think, do whatever your heart tells you to. It should be okay.

Hello guys a little update yesterday I logged in to nvc site and found out that my case is in transit, and i have an appointment for the medical this week so im preparing my self and documents for the interview so my question is should I translate our marriage certificate but the nvc already have our original certificate and translations and i have a copy of the one that we sent to the nvc , and thank you
