In my particular case, I informed my family because I figured they'd just have to get over it. It hadn't occurred to me that anyone would do more than just give me negative advise. When an FBI agent accompanied by a police officer came to my home because we were reported to be involved in terrorism, I felt such enormous regret for telling my family. I'm not going to tell them he was approved. I don't want any of them to know until he's here with me.

Thank you for sharing this. I thought I was the only one whose family didn't support my marriage.

I felt kind of ashamed about my family not being super enthusiastic about my husband because 1) It's my second marriage and they think I have no reason to try it again - I guess in their mind I'm some sort of "damaged goods"; 2) I'll quit a good job (it has been okay, but I have a new boss and she makes me feel I need to sell my soul to accomplish the company's goals, so I actually feel pretty good about leaving); 3) Since I will be unemployed for a little bit, I will not be contributing financially for a while :innocent:

Tsk tsk.

WAELMOHAMED, my husband's friend filled last year and had similar problems with yours. NVC told him to fill all over but my husband advised him to apply for CRBA. I don't know if you are a US citizen, but if you are, you do not need to re fill all over for your daughter. Apply for CRBA at the US embassy in Egypt and your daughter can have her US passport. Here is a link that can help

I hope this helps and anyone can also help you on this forum

Tsk tsk.

My mom's had that attitude, that I was divorced, and I have children, so why marry again? She thought it was a good idea for me to be a spinster for the rest of my life. That's so absurd.

Sounds like it was time to leave that job in any case. Life is much too short to waste it suffering under the control of someone who makes us miserable. It's okay to not contribute financially for awhile. It's not as if you'll be sitting all day watching TV. I'm sure you'll be getting a lot done during your off work time.

Our case changed from" Ready" to "Administrative Processing" this morning. I thought it would be a few days before it changed. Since we're approve, this means the visa is being processed. Anyone know how long it typically takes to change to "Issued" after it says AP?

Sounds like you plan to start the year off right.

I am eager to see the next round of interview for January 2016. Hopefully they will schedule a lot.

CallMeShams, I am so ready to start a NORMAL family life with my husband! I would have loved a December interview so I can be with him for New Year's Eve (at least), but guess it's not possible. I'm staying positive tho. I do believe that the hardest part of this process is over and soon enough i'll be with hubby again. I miss him so much..

I like your attitude. Don't know how busy the Embassy is over there but hopefully they might can slide you in for December.

You are almost there though. You probably will get an early January interview.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm a US citizen by birth. But, I didn't live for 2 years after the age of 14 in the US, that's why my request was denied.

So...here's the big question.

What should my husband do with all the evidence I submitted to USCIS that he now carries?
He really does not want to pack it with him to the U.S.

Even though I am sure I have digital copies of everything, is there anything he really, really should bring?

I forget to check CEAC until I see it mentioned on here!

Mine changed to AP today too. I was not planning on checking to see if it was issued until the day, or the day before the day they told my husband to pick up his passport (Tuesday) and by then I would hope to see it say issued...so I'm giving it 3-4 days.

I felt the hardest part of the process was over for us, once he passed the interview.

He really feels that way right now too, "I just want to get my passport back with my visa and head home to the U.S. be with my wife." :)
