Welcome to the New and Improved Case Complete to Interview Monthly thread.

The list that has been updated has now been moved to a spreadsheet like the one used in the NVC filers thread, I am still updating. But right right all you waiting for interviews are listed.

You can view my spreadsheet Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet

To update your interview date go here. Case Complete to Interview Form

For New people to the thread please go Case Complete to Interview Form and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form.

Everyone should be clicking on the Portal tab to visit the information for their country. If nothing is there or information needs updating. Update or add.

Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others.

Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings.

Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews.

FAQ

I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.

How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month

Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.

I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.

Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.

I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.

What do I need to bring to interview?
When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen.

Just to remind everyone to revisit the NVC Process Wiki, NVC Process Wiki

  5. Photocopies of all civil documents
  6. A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago.
  7. Any additional documents listed in the U.S. Embassy or Consulate specific interview guidelines

NVC. Please note that even though you may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, you are
still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

I was told on the phone yesterday that the case was complete and that we had already been through the worst part. The rep informed me that the next step is interview scheduling. Today, I got an email saying that there is a checklist and that they need more financial evidence but it seems they are going to schedule the interview anyway and we have to bring evidence to the interview. I'm confused, as I don't understand my i-864 had sufficient income and all requirements but the checklist says that it is insufficient -_- I need someone from NVC to explain to me what exactly is insufficient and why am I being asked to get a co-sponsor. It's like they just want to make things unnecessarily complicated when all the requirements are there.

What the hell? I'm getting really frustrated now. First this whole process is unnecessarily too long. First they take 6 months to perform a 15 min review of the petition. And then NVC and when you provide everything they need they still checklist you unnecessarily. It's like...... anything can do to keep families apart -_- Ridiculous

Yeah, they suck. I had the same issue. It said code F. I think this means that it is an optional suggestion to bring a joint sponsor to the interview. They seem to be sending this checklist to many people. If your i864 is solid, then you should be fine. You can call NVC, they should confirm that you do not need to mail anything to NVC anymore.

Hello,

Does anyone know an up-to-date thread about NOA2 to CC?

I need to estimate the time from petition approval to case complete status in NVC

I have this one

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PjzQHM6z9aAtlJ4wbsh65fk24BxBhtfZi51HGHaULtA/edit?hl=en&hl=en#gid=7

But it doesn't look up to date.

Thank you.
