I am having trouble buying a ticket online for my fiance to travel to the US. Airlines want the name on the ticket to be the same as the name on the credit card. My fiance is going to the airport to see if she can buy a ticket there and I will just sent her money. I am concerned that we will not get the great price that I can get on the internet. Has anyone else solved this problem?

What website are you using?

Thats a little weird because my parents buy me tickets all the time, vise versa.

My fiance and I have bought each other tickets as well on multiple occasions.

Go to the Philippines and fly back with her. She'll like that and you won't have an issue buying tickets.

Agreed, plus you can help her pack! Also.. it's so much fun to fly with your fiancé(e)! <3

Asiana and Priceline. I wish I could afford to fly there and fly back with her. :)

Honestly, that is truly weird. In all my years of traveling I've never had that happened to me. I just asked my fiance and he agree's as well.

All I can say is possibly try to book another air flight?

Try Kayak or Travelzoo. Kayak definitely is my favorite though. I like Opodo as well, but I think that website is only in german.

Have you tried Expedia? I had bought several international flight tickets for relatives in the past through Expedia with no issues.

Try a travel agent. I got the same prices I would have online, they get commission elsewhere not my tacking on the fares. I took my parents back once and paid for my mom again later. Never had an issue that way, but now I'm worried myself for my fiance. Hmm.

that's the case when you buy from the airline directly. as long as you buy from an agent off/online it's OK.

try Cathay pacific. they also fly to Chicago from HK. when you buy ticket from them directly, make sure you click the check box that you're buying someone else. it worked for me. I only had to call them just to confirm that all is OK.

I had the same issue purchasing a ticket for my wife to travel from Vietnam, after her visa was approved. The airline can validate everything - call them and explain the situation. In our case, my wife took the printed validation (I believe I sent a scanned copy of my passport to the airline, but can't remember) and everything was fine.

Best of luck!

I was in Nigeria once and needed to buy a ticket for my son to visit here (he is 21). Because Nigeria is a high fraud country, the person travelling needs to show the CC card at the airport that they used to buy the ticket with. To overcome this obstacle, I went to the Delta Window at the airport in Nigeria and showed my CC and passport and they noted the account which allowed him to travel with no issues. I also bought his ticket myself on another occasion at the airport with cash.

I use skyscanner to search and have never had an issue. I booked a flight for my SO for March via Virgin Atlantic and Norwegian. They had no issues that the card was in my name.
