Unfortunately, you've messed up. A duplicate entry will be disqualifying -you can't get around it with a different email because they use facial recognition software to check if different applications have photos of the same person irrespective of name or if the exact same photo is used. Then if an entry is selected with a wrong name (or a photo of someone else) it will be disqualified at interview as you can't prove its the same person on the entry. Whatever happens, this person cannot have a successful DV2017 entry.

If you charged this person for entering for them you need to refund them as you messed it up. If you did it for free please be careful next time you do it for someone.

You don't understand how facial recognition software works.... It works on bone structure, eye shape etc. she may be able to do it if she has plastic surgery on her face, a bit extreme for a lottery entry.

....you think USCIS has not thought of such simple attempts to try game the system? The "error" of a different name or misspelling of a name, different photos, colored contact lenses and hair, emails etc...they've seen it all before. It's one of the reasons they brought the facial recognition software in, it's one thing that you can't game. They also use it when checking the photo on the entry against the person in the interview, so you can't do it by using a photo of someone else either, even if they look similar to the naked eye, so that will lead to rejection at interview.

By the way my hair color on my entry photo and at interview were different, of course it wasn't an issue because it's a superficial thing that's easy to change. In exactly the same way it won't fool anyone that it's a different person. I clearly saw them run the software during the interview as well, using the photo they take of the applicant during the interview biometrics vs the entry photo.

Hi again

i have contact with KCC and they say something like this (my english is not very well)

KCC:

"There is no way to edit or cancel your eDV entry after it has been submitted. If you are selected for further processing in the DV-2017 program, you will have an opportunity to correct errors when the application period opens in May, 2016.

Do not attempt to submit a second entry in your name. The law allows only one entry per each person during the lottery registration period; applicants with more than one entry submitted will be disqualified. Applicants may apply for the program each year during the regular registration period.

When inquiring about the status of a Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant's full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center is a document processing facility, and cannot advise you on whether or not you will qualify for a visa. Only a consular officer can make that decision."

am i understand it correctly?

that i can clean my mess in may 2016?(and yes i have submit for DV-2017)

what do you think susie?

i was thinkig to share this maybe someone else like me having this issue.

thanks again

Yes if selected you can have the "opportunity" to correct errors by putting the correct info on the DS260. But as they said, oniy a consular official can make the decision. Sure your 'friend' can go ahead if selected, but if the entire first name is wrong as you said I am almost certain she will be rejected at interview. There are reports of people being rejected for having one letter wrong in the spelling of their names, here you have a whole different one. Edited by SusieQQQ
