We got an RFE for failing to report this year's (2017) taxes -- I hadn't filed my return yet, so I sent in 2014/2015/2016 -- not acceptable, so I had to go and get my taxes filed in order to report 2017. That was back in March and I still haven't heard anything yet.

Only thing I'm worried about is that I haven't received any response since we mailed our response to the RFE??

This is a thread for people going through the process to get a k1 visa. You'll be better posting in the aos forum

After looking at that site I'm scared cos on the i-129 form i left a lot of the things that didn't apply to us blank. And my divorce decree is only one page, so that's all I sent. I think everything else was ok.

What ended up happening with your divorce paper? My fiancés was only one paper as well so I just copied the front, because there was nothing on the back.

Did you get an RFE for it?

I don't think the number of pages is the main thing, I think most are fine if the decree has a stamp and a signature from the judge (if the decree is actually only one page, that is. If it has more pages you need to send them all of course).

After we replied to RFE it took 12 days until we received NOA2 in the mail. I remember how nervous I was! I was frantically wondering if I had sent in enough info or if I had done something wrong or if they had caught something else! I now realize there was absolutely no need to worry myself, and there's no need for you to be worried either.

To answer you, I suppose the straight-forward and fairly logical answer would be that there are humans over there working on your response. Keep in mind also that busy seasons do happen, and yours isn't the only case they're working on. Also, some RFEs are very very easy to validate (missing signature) while others might not be so easy (having to pour through an entire Terms of Service of a website).

Long story short is that you were able to respond to their RFE in a prompt and concise way, and you should be golden. No need to worry!

Word of the wise though: It's still a long road ahead with plenty of stretches where you'll be waiting without word or updates. Patience is a virtue, so they say (especially when it comes to the USCIS and NVC)! The wait is worth it in the end.

If you dont mind me asking, what was missing in your petition that they asked for an RFE? :)

We had submitted a relationship history that was far too detailed. Had to cut it back to a few small paragraphs. We also needed to scan and send passport stamps (this was before i-94 was required on the form).

You forgot passport stamps (together with passport bio page). People can get boarding passes without actually using them, passport stamps however show that you did actually went somewhere and on what date. I would also send the same proof again as you did previously, you never know if they lost something.

when my fiancee come in to Algeria they did not stamp on her passport as an evidence of entry but when she left Algeria they stamped on her passport that she is living. is that enough evidence?

hi everyone

we are gathering our evidences and organizing them paper by paper. The USCIS sent us a RFE and included an envelope to answer them with it but what we are going to send them again is more papers and the envelop capacity is too small. In this case what we can do? shall we buy a big envelop and staple the USCIS to it? or stuff the USCIS small envelop with our papers anyway and send it to them?

is there any memeber here who had this issue?

please advice us.

thank you

That envelope is mainly for making sure your RFE is returned to the correct mailing address. You don't need to put your papers in it at all. In fact most people don't. Just make sure you have your cover sheet that was sent back on top of everything you send back and that you send it to the correct address on the RFE and you are good to go!

Good luck!

As a response to the USCIS for the RFE, we gathered the following documents as an attached to satisfy the request:

1.      Copy of visa to Algeria

2.      Copy of passport bio page with admission stamps + a photo for the admission stamps to show them clear

3.       Copy of Airline ticket booking confirmation with date on circled.

4.      Copy of Boarding passes with date on circled.

5.       Baggage receipt

6.      Photos of me and the beneficiary together in Algeria.

7.      Copy of Museums and historical site tickets with date circled on

is that enough and strong evidences? is there any member here can suggest an add or something else? your suggestions are welcomed.

after all we figured out that we are just resending again whatwe did in the first place, looks like when USCIS lose yourfile dont tell you the truth but just punish you with a RFE.

thank you and I look forward to hear your suggestions memebers

Should be good. Could also provide a copy of the i-94 info (which is actually required on the new i-129F form I believe).

https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/

The website even explains that it can be used as a government issued document and is therefore unbiased.

The agent working on the case has the same access to the i-94 info with your passport number. This is one of the reasons a photocopy of the passport is required, I imagine.

So you got an RFE to resubmit copies of documents you already sent?☹️  Was there anything at all that you missed sending the first time?

 Good Luck!

Hoping no RFE's for us and no more for you!!
