It's been almost 4 weeks since they received my response now (Oct. 19th). We are starting to get pretty anxious about it. Any advice? At what point should we try to reach it to someone?

Nooooo :( two months! I was so hopeful it would be quicker; we have been in this process since last February.

I didn't get an email, but the case status update says they received our response to the RFE package.

Well it took 2 and half months before u sent in your response, so you are making the wait a long process. The quicker u are with responding means the sooner they can finish your case. Texas has the longest proccess reputation so u have to be quick with them. So u are just as much the blame as they are the long process. Sorry just being brutally honest.

Yeah, I know. We decided to wait to get his signature on another letter of intent until a trip together in late September. At least knowing that it will likely take a month or two makes me a little less anxious about not hearing in the 2 week time.

Any of you is waiting for a rfe almost 3 weeks after advice on website? We are contacting congressman regarding the lost letter! Anyone else is facing same problem? Can the congressman office get the rfe letter content in our behalf by email? Any suggestion regarding this situation?

If you have not received your paper copy of your RFE which tells you what you need to send in you must call USCIS and put in a request for a new one stating you never received your initial paper copy. Its best to ask for a level two person according to previous posts in the original list. They should be able to get a new one out to you within one week. Make sure they have the right address associated with your case. One other member previously moved after their packet was sent off and needed to update their address in order to receive the paper.

There are outliers in the process the longest wait on the data I have was 4 months. The RFE paper states 60 days. If you are outside of 60 days for processing then you are able to call your local congressman to have them speed up the process and look at your RFE response. It could have been delayed due to your wait to send in, but as long as it was within the response time frame you are good! It might just take a while. Keep the faith you will get there!!!

Thank you for your help,

After calling 30 times in 3 weeks finally we Reach an officer who was very helpul and offeres to send the rfe content by fax. We were told that they will send a fax with the info requested, but our fax wasnt working so they text my fiance to call back today in order to fix the problem cos it was late and customer service wasnt operating at 8pm! We have to call back today again to see if they can fax it again to a new number! We just hope to get the info

Thanks again for your advice !,

I am curious if you sent the whole hardbound file to them or not?? I think I just sent in a cover sheet and the section headers in paper format thinking that they will probably scan and enter the information into the computer..

On average from the data collected so far it is two weeks to receive your NOA2 after responding to an RFE. Since yours was simple I imagine that should be how long you have to wait.

There are outliers that are shorter and longer, but I would imagine your simple RFE should be handled quickly.

Looks like the time taken from RFE to NOA2 depends on which location is processing it too. Texas received ours on October 22nd and we're still waiting...

Hang in there! They received ours on Oct. 19th, and we were approved today! Yay! Yours should be soon, too.
