K1 Visa Interview Schedule - how to & how long to wait

Hi Guys,

I am applying my K1 visa here in Singapore. I do have a quick question - am I supposed to apply the interview appointment online? Do i wait for the embassy to send me a notice of my interview appointment?

I am a little confused because on the DS-160,it says I will schedule it and on the Packet 3 they sent me, they say they will schedule it after I return packet 3 (which I already did) and my medical exam was just done too.

I'd appreciate any help/enlightenment you could please share here. Thank you!

Thanks Pitaya. I got my answer just now too. K visas should not be scheduled online.. So yes, i do have to wait for a notice by them..

By the way, do you have an idea how long does it usually take for them to schedule the interview after Packet 3 submission? I have just submitted packet and confirmed they have received it, this week. I am very anxious because I have a work trip in three weeks' time and I am worried the interview schedule would clash with my work trip (which i am hoping not). Another question is, will it be a good idea to tell the consular office like emailing them that i will not be singapore in certain days (i know it sounds diva-like but just a thought).

thanks ahead!

Someone will likely stop by soon and have a good answer for you. All of the US foreign service posts are a little different in their procedures. I used to be somewhat familiar with the goings-on at the US consulate in Guangzhou, PRC.... they all have their own nuances.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hi Roy and Chanel,

You are awesome - thanks for giving me this link and congratulations on your successful journey! :D

ctually, we have the same approval date 27 Jul 2015! I am so happy the interview for you guys was done. I did not receive my Packet which they delivered 26 Aug (they said it got lost in the mail and when I called to ask they even cited that another applicant which has the same date as my noa2 approval had the interview on the 7th so I guess that was you guys!). So I had to keep contacting them until they finally resend it on 15 Oct 2015.

I have sent my Packet 3 back last Friday (30 Oct 2015) via speedpost and I tracked that it has indeed reached the embassy. I had completed my medical exam last thursday too and they told me results will be 5-7 working days (but prior to my medical exam, I was told over phone that 3-4 working days is all it takes).

Now I am anxious to wait for the interview date. May I please confirm with you what Packet 4 contains? I presume it also has the interview date? I check the forum link you sent and there was one lady who received the interview date via phone call. I am really anxious because I have business trips sometime this month. I plan to email the consular office to inform them. Any thoughts Roy & Chanel?

Thank you so much!

Hi Babakiki,

Thanks for your reply. I guess that makes sense. i called the medical clinic to check if my results are out but it isn't out yet. I had my medical exam thursday last week and they are only running the tests today. i am not sure why its taking so much time. They told me results will be out in 3-4 working days before i went there and then when i was there, they said 5-7 days. they also told me that they need to determine if i need the varicella vaccine (for chicken pox). It's a little bit weird since when i went down there for the exam, they told me i don't need it anymore since i've already had chicken pox previously. Well, i think i just gotta wait...

Thanks guys! :)

Dear Babakiki,

Do you have an idea as to why it took around 2 weeks for you to wait? Also, did you get your P4 notice for interview via registered mail or just in the mailbox? :)

Some users have received in the mailbox and others also receivedd P4 3 days after P3 submission.

Thank you!

It takes 2 weeks for mine too, I believe because they are super busy especially it is year end, alot of ppl applying for other visas too. As for me, I do have my varicella but I was required to inject again even my body still has immunity in it :( Total of 7 injections for me!

Packet 4 contains of interview date letter and Aramex information. They did not include the checklist like previous posters. If you refer to my timeline signature, you can see that I sent out my packet 3 in Sept 1 and only receive packet 4 in 22 Sept.

Hey Roy&Chanel,

When you register with Aramex did you saw the message "There are currently no appointments available" . ? i know they already scheduled the date for the interview but i feel like my registration with this aramex site is not finish and it won't allow me to go to the last step. Or is there any last step that i need to go?

thank you

Hi Guys,

I checked my case status on the CEAC website and it says last updated "06 Nov 2015". On 05 Nov, they replied to my email that they have noted my biz trip (which is good). So I guess they have already received my medical exam on Friday (clinic confirmed they sent it on Friday too). However, to date, I have not received any Packet 4 yet... I hope I get it this week.

yeap baba, same thing happens to me too. What I did to choose my aramex location and delivery advice is by going backwards where I pressed the top wordings. I think somewhere in Singapore K1s thread I posted the error too. As long as you have chosen the location and delivery advice and include your info its good. Their sms notification is alot faster than the site.

The last updated for your case is actually the date they sent out packet 4. This happens to me too, when it was sent out, theres a updated date. So most likely you have already received it now :P
