I know and now I'm thinking in another way- it's just a huge financial burden to leave a steady job, an apartment, and not know the outcome. I guess my first step will be to get my ticket to India the rest will fall into place. Thanks guys especially for the tough love.

Yes, it is very tough. I have been there, done that. First K1 refused and returned after leaving us 16 months in AP.

Second filing successful. It was a 5 year long journey.

I understand the disappointment but eventually you must get over the anxiety and anger and catapult forward

to reach the end goal.

Best wishes for the next round. One day at a time is how you will get through this.

I don't understand why you have to quit your job?

Is there no way you can't wait until you have vacation time to go there and get married? I don't know much about the marriage process in India, but I can't imagine that it takes so long for a ceremony and some papers that it would cause you to lose your job.

While I understand it's hard to line it all up, it doesn't mean it's not doable at all.

When people are saying to go marry him, they aren't saying to drop everything and take the first plane to India. They're saying, find out what you need to do to get married, see how long you need to be there, plan accordingly. You go to india, get married, come back, file papers, go back to your normal routine.

Quitting your job when you're the ONLY person working in the relationship to go to India for a marriage that al biet may not even work out because THE ONLY PROVIDER just quit her job. Is your fiance going to work? If he didn't work before, why would he work now? Are you going to be able to continue to provide living in India?

While some people get the most done when they're emotionally fired up, you're still kind of in the emotional extremist mode. You're taking things so far out from where they should be that I don't know if you're seeing that there are other ways than "quit your job and go to india".

No one can stop you and I really wish you the best, but I personally would not say to throw everything out and take off on a whim. Some people like the risky adventure though, but personally when it comes to this process and a long distant relationship, drastic measures are not always the best to take.

I think you need to cool off a bit before taking any further action and then write out a plan.

If for some reason my fiance and I get denied, then we are going to 1. Try to get him here to get married and then go back to Canada 2. I go to Canada and we get married. All of this planned out as any normal planning would happen. He would take off work for the day or two we get married, we marry, he goes back to work, I go back home/he goes back home. We apply for spousal.

The only days he should take off would be the wedding day and if we need to spend a day doing the lisense or something, but over all anything we do for "plan b" or "plan c" should not be some drastic hitch in our current lives since once we're married and file for spousal, we'll be right back where we were pre-marriage... just... married.

Most of us had to make sacrifices, financial or otherwise.

Why would you have to leave your job and apartment to get married though? Take an unpaid leave or vacations, don't sabotage your current situation and add drama and complexity to your life willingly :/

OY. ok sorry in advance for the typos...

Let's see. Yes a leave unpaid would be good. You see I am in a creative field and mostly freelanced. When I knew that I was going to have To

Show the

Government my

Income for this

Petition I took a "regular" job and it's actually really good. People

In NY aren't so flexible at least in my industry. The earliest I could go would be Christmas break... Let's see. Plus I want the stability of the job when I get back. ALSO I work at the ashram in March so that would be two trips. It's a lot!! Tickets are 800-1300 Anyway... Like you guys say I have to

Cool down and move to

Plan B. Meanwhile he is now working in Delhi. Yes of course he will work

Here once He has the working pass etc..

If the earliest you can go is christmas break, see if it's possible to get married during the christmas break! That should hopefully not ruffle too much in your everyday lives.

If he's working and you are too, that's good. Just remember, you don't need to take a DRASTIC amount of time off to get married, you simply just need to take long enough to get married, come back to the US and file for spousal.

There's always a way to make it work out in the best favor of both of you without doing anything crazy or big changes. Take a breath, relax a bit, take a day or two off VJ if you need to, then sit down and talk about a plan with your fiance, what the next step is, when you can do the next step, their input, etc.

I know I took a few days off VJ and we just had the refusal with conditions for paperwork. Seeing all these people getting approved, some with less things than us, people with nearly the exact same case as us getting approved, it was hard. Took a couple of days away, made a plan for what we're doing now (sending in documents) and then subplans for if this falls through. Once I had those in place, it was a lot easier to breathe... and see all the happy faces of those approved. =]

couple more months matter in the long run.Take you time to plan this. Stay a week only if you can cram it all in.

I visited every year, made 5 trips. We were on skype all the time, eating together only separated by the screen.

We cooked with skype running, he would eat dinner and I would eat breakfast, talked for hours, even slept,

time difference was 7 hours. We accumulated 12# of relationship evidence that I front loaded the second time around.

No matter how long it would take we knew we were going to be together. He knew where I was at all times and vise versa, we texted and talked

for free on Viber 10+ times a day.

I went to Cyprus to get married ( where he went to study) and had more disappointment because the Turkish authorities (North Cyprus) blocked us from

marrying within the time I had allowed for the trip. I returned back unmarried and filed another K1.

I did what I had to do to keep from being sucked up into this unknown 1 1/2 year long AP pit and went to the gym, to work etc. to keep myself busy.

My faith gave me hope and he is here now and we are happily married for almost a year. It was all worth it.

I would have to write a book for all the gory details but won't take up any more time for that, just know we had to jump through 100 flaming hoops

to make it through to the end. True love will stand the test.

The first CO told me to my face that she denied us due to a gut feeling. The second CO was very kind and called me for a Stokes interview

on the phone and approved us, saying he can see the love between us just from the pile of photos we submitted.

I don't like to tell my story all the time and just give (sometimes tough love) advice because I had years to research this process like an obsessed

mad woman :) I do know my stuff on returned petitions.

You absolutely aren't alone. My fiancee and I are 9 years into our long distance relationship, and we're following the protocal for the K1 visa. We've submitted our application with the required paperwork and visit when we can. I'm "planning" this around his job and mine, so neither of us will be dramatically leaving one country or the other. This is certainly NOT a race. Be smart about it. You can't rush the government, and you certainly won't change their mind with a little news coverage (that's if anyone even thinks it's a decent story to share).

Hang in there. Keep busy. Make a game plan. And relax.

Hi Everyone. Happy Holidays

So I am going to re file. I received a response from USCIS saying

To submit another application and fee. So I will

Do just that and plan to be at the next interview

Hopefully we'll not be sent to Texas service center

My question:

I'm assuming Will

My fiancée have to do the medical all

Over again? Yes? Or will they accept the last medical from July 2015?

He was also given vaccinations pre maturely. Those should have been done in US

Are those going to be ok or are they going to re vaccinate again after only a few months???

Thanks!

He will need a new medical. It is best to have all vaccs completed with the medical then he won't need any more here; ( complete/waiver should be marked

on the DS3025, request a copy of it, the original will go with the packet and meet up at AOS). It is a hassle and very expensive to get more vaccs transcribed

here by a CS if needed, easier and cheaper to get it done there. The panel physician will do the appropriate vaccs he needs, have him bring the old vaccs

record with you or the DS3025 if he received one.

Thank you.

Do you know if we should request our original

Documents back fromUSCIS?

Also what about the PCC? Will he have to pay for new originals ???

What original documents ? If you did (but shouldn't have) send an original birth certificate etc. then yes request it back >>>> http://www.uscis.gov/g-884

The petition forms no.

Your relationship evidence you hopefully made copies of.

Yes, he will need to get a new police certificate.

Front load the petition and make copies of everything you send.

Yes of course we made copies of everything.

They asked for his original PCC from London and India so I guess we'll have to get those again.

Thanks!!!

You may get by with the old PC if they are under one year when they get to the embassy. It is up to the CO what he would accept

or what your consulate usually does.

Better to have it ready than being issued a 221g for an updated PC.

You could email the embassy and ask if they are inclined to answer.
