i have been to the US before for a 2 weeks stay to visit my brother in 2008........who is presently a LPR....... visa was approved for 3 months .....

thinking im old enough (25) to fill out the application online without getting any advice from anyone ...i went ahead and filled it out

i had my interview October 2015....... and on the form i stated that i wanted to go for 2 months (July-August 2016),

i have a decent paying job at the Fire Dept (2 1/2 years now)

on the day of the interview ..... the lady asked why i wanted to go to the US ....i said to visit my brother and for tourism purposes ...... (but was for vacation also, because im approaching maximum leave) but i didn't tell her that because i didn't apply for vacation just yet for the next year, so my leave wasn't approved and i didnt have my leave pass to show in case she asked (was waiting to see if my visa would be approved before i applied for vacation)

btw i have no kids
not married
no house and land

just ....my job, bank account, and a letter from school (completing in 2019)

so my question is ......since i was turned down for my visa to go for july aug next year .......the next time im applying .....shall i wait after that date (i know you can go any time after the fact)....or when do you guys think i should go

i guess they just look and the fine things and they turn you down .....looking at it from there perspective .... they maybe was like ....you went in 2008 to visit you brother for 2 weeks after being granted a 3 month visa and you coming to apply for 2 months for the same purpose......and i guess just by these simple things you can get turn down .......but after looking at forums .....i understand is not just something the you can just fill out and apply for .....plenty thinking has to go into the process .....since these people are well trained

thanks for the replies!!!!

I always thought a B was one of the simpler visas to apply for, you fill in the form and go to the interview to find out.

No average time that I have ever seen, I doubt there is the data to produce one.

Why are you so desperate?

Sounds like you were refused because you didn't show strong enough ties to home country. Unless you add in more evidence you most likely may be refused again.

Consider collecting more proof of your return...maybe a letter from ur employer if you have worked there a long time, etc. you need a stronger case.

Best of luck.
