Port Of Entry Question

Good day to everyone,

I have a quick question. Not that I am anywhere near this point yet, but I am trying to plan out PTO for next year.

Has anyone here accompanied their foreign spouse when they came through the Port of Entry. Am I allowed to?

I have been reading everywhere on the internet but cannot get a clear cut answer.

Anybody with first hand experience of how it went please let me know what happened. Were you able to walk through the security and officers together? Or did they make you go on ahead and wait.

Im most worried that if they send me on ahead and then decide my wife is being rejected what do I do then. Scary!

Yes you can POE with your foreign spouse, I did

Normal US entry procedure, the only thing they asked is how long we have been married

My husband was with me the whole time when we went through. No problem at all. They did the paperwork joked around with the kiddos said welcome and that was it. Didn't take more than 10 minutes

My husband was not with me at my interview, but we flew into the US together and he was with me the whole time we were going through immigration. I handed over the packet that you are not supposed to open when we got the counter. The CBP officer didn't even talk to me except to ask me to look at the camera, though he did ask my husband a couple of questions including how my husband and I are related. We were then ushered into the secondary processing area where I was fingerprinted by a second officer who didn't seem as gruff as the first one while my husband waited about 2 feet behind me.

That was all there was to it, really.

The CBP agents can deny entry to anyone, for good cause. However, they typically don't give arriving K-1/CR-1 beneficiaries much trouble, because they figure that there was recent heavy scrutiny by the consulates.
