Hi All,

I had to ask here, since there is no good answer I can get on the AUH embassy website.

I am scheduled for an interview this coming Nov. 15 for my k1 visa (fiancee)

The letter sent by the embassy to my fiance's email says I have to fill out DS-230.. However, when I look up here or all the other sites online, including the official travel state.gov sites for fiancee visas, for a K1 visa you only need to fill out ds-160 and i-134, the ds-230 and i-864 are only for the spouse or after marriage.

They also provided a link for the procedures before the interview from the travel state.gov and it states there only "i-134 and ds-160 for K1. However, on the pdf attachment they have attached on the email it says otherwise (ds-230 and i-864) VERY ODD AND CONFUSING!!

Now, Im really confused on what to bring for the interview. :(

Any advise would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

DS 160 and 134 are all you need to fill out prior to the interview. You will need your confirmation sheet from that DS 160. The US consulate in Canada did the same thing. I suppose they send the same packet out to all sorts of applicants which makes it confusing.

I-864 you will need to fill out when you are at the AOS stage so perhaps the same applies for DS 230?

K1, EAD/AP + AOS + ROC = 0 RFE's

Next step: Citizenship!

Did your fiancee fill out any ds-230 online?

More information at their website... it spefically asks for DS-160: http://abudhabi.usembassy.gov/niv/main.html

That is the info for non-immigrant visas. The K-1 falls under the immigrant visa units of the consulates. Those instructions are not specifically for a K-1 applicant.

OP> Follow the instructions for Abu Dhabi that the person above added.

I checked online on any forms of the DS-156K for fiance. However, every form i can find has expiration dates of "11-2013"

Does this mean, they are not requiring the DS-156K anymore?

I am not sure its a very short form so I am making sure my fiance has it with him when he goes just in case...its seems almost like its just a summary of who is applying and a reconfirmation of the intent to marry within 90 days. The one I attached was linked to in the email I received from the embassy.
