Applying H4 visa - while H1B is still in India

I have H1b visa stamped on October 2015 in Mumbai and


planning to travel USA during February 2016.


Now,i am planning to apply H4 visa for my family


dependents.So,Is it advisable to apply H4 visa prior


travelling (of H1B holder)to USA ?


My employer says,i need to wait for 2 months pay roll for


applying H4 visa.If i follow my employer words,then it


will become mid of year for bringing my family to USA.


Kindly provide your suggestion on this situation. Advance

Most h4s are issued at the same time as the H1, they can not be issued before a H1. Do not need pay checks or for you to be there.

When I received my first H4 status (in 2005) I received it at the same time my dad received his H1B. We didn't have to wait for 2 months of his paychecks. Mind you though, the H4 cannot be issued before the H1B is

- Removal of Conditions Timeline -

07/31/17 - Mailed I-751 package to California Service Center

08/01/17 - Package delivered to CSC

08/05/17 - NOA1 received by US mail

08/10/18 - Rec'd new NOA1 with 18 month extension instead of 12 months

10/15/18 - Case transferred to Nebraska

12/26/18 - ROC Approved
