Hi guys,

My case has been stuck at NVC since May 12 - DS-261 / AOS Bill done on May 30 - I sent the AOS package with IV Supporting Documents on June 5 - As everybody here I went through all of the technical issues that DOS had on their website CEAC - Then I was able to mail IV Bill on 07/30/2015 - On 08/08/2015 I was able to fill out DS-260 and submitted it - I waited the 30 days. on 09/09/2015 my case was put on a supervisor review. I waited 42 days, and it has not been reviewed. Of course, I've been calling NVC every other day to check on the status of my case, and nothing!

All sudden NVC called me on October 15, 2015 to inform me that there is missing a document, which is the Marriage Termination for my spouse. I argued with the Rep. that I have mailed the full completed IV supporting documents and there is absolutely no missing documents etc... but with no vail, I went that day to the Post Office and mailed them the missing document Oct. 15.

On Oct. 22 I received an email from NVC stated that they have received the missing document and to wait 30 days for it to be reviewed. I called and they kept saying you gotta wait 30 days.

Today the 29th of Oct. 2015 I received a CheckList email from NVC about the missing Marriage Termination document - I thought maybe this is false since I just sent it over 2 weeks ago. I called and the Rep. said, the mail has been reviewed and there is a note stated that you have to send/mail it again, I was like what???? I argued with him about it, that I sent it and it shown NVC got it, and why they wanted it again, it make no sense??? he kept saying, I recummand that you mail the document again, and hang up.

I called again, at first the Rep. said, we received the mail, but it has not been reviewed yet wait 30 days, I said, ok so what to do with the CHeckList email, he said, DISREGARD! when I said, but when I called earlier your co-worker said, I have to mail it? he asked me to hold, and came back saying my bad, they have reviewed your mail, and there is a note to re-mail the Marriage Termination again, I don't understqand why? but they want you to re-mail again.

Have anybody went through this? does this make any sense to anyone? What the purpose of re-mailing? what is it NVC want and why they doing this???

Please advice. I really appreciate any help.

P.S. I also have contacted my Senator's office, and they said, they will contact NVC with the missing document, I'm still waiting their respond.

You are certainly not alone my friend. I have been at NVC Stage since July. I have talked with so many reps and supervisors that now I lost counting. They recently have asked me to send my original marriage certificate and birth certificate which i already had sent them twice but some how they lost it after keeping me wait for more than 60 days they finally sent a checklist in which they mentioned that above documents are missing and there were some error with the AOS forms but i dont need to send them any thing and wait till my interview get scheduled. I have to take these there. Funny thing is day before yesterday i talked with the rep and she told me to send these documents in inorder to proceed with my case and on the next day in morning i sent these documents and in evening i received such checklist. The very next day i called again and the to my surprise the rep said the checklist we sent was a false checklist and now you have to wait another 30 days which is never 30 days its always more wait time to review those two documents can u believe it whole thirty days for reviewing two documents. Where as my case has been to NVC more than 120 days as of now. I dont know what is wrong with NVC but they surely arent professionals as far as handling the cases is concerned and no two person will tell u the same thing. So best of luck i hope your case gets settled soon.

It sounds like a game. Maybe they have so much free time they send checklists for documents that are sitting in front of them for the sport of it? What else could explain this buffoonery? Getting the senator involved sounds like a good plan after their horsing around.

Thanks for your inputs, I'm sure I'm not alone. there is a lot of folks are suffering NVC as we are. For my case, I'm not sure if contacting the Senator's office has made the situation even worse? I will find out tomorrow, but the entire NVC and their process has to be changed.

I think all of us here at VJ should create a new petition to the White House at We the People: Your Voice in Our Government - Demanding a CHANGE for NVC Process. If we are willing to sign and have our voices be heard in our Government we should act immediately!

I concur, it is a game! these guys are collecting pay checks sitting on their desk doing nothing! and not even answering the phone when calling NVC - there are times I stayed for more than an hour for a Rep. to answer the phone telling me BS you gotta wait 60, 42 , 30 etc days for one document to be reviewed by a supervisor, which they are not available 99% of the times or at the meetings! it's ridiculous!

I would get your representative involved as soon as possible. Our 42 days in supervisor review part one are up at the end of next week, and I already got in touch with our rep 2 weeks ago. I'm convinced that the average VJ user understands the immigration process much more clearly than any of these monkeys at the NVC.

The only good thing about this process is it lets immigrants learn first hand how much accountability the government has. which is 0.

What the opening post described is unreal. It is like they are going out of their way to torture people. I just don't get it. It is just crazy.

I think you senator will be able to get in contact with the right person at the NVC. Including the e-mails received saying they received your documents will be good proof.

What really gets is that some of these people really think they know what they are saying, they are arrogantly ignorant, it is crazy. You try to help them to understand how their own system is suppose to work and they don't want to listen.

Yes, this is what I'm talking about, when you call NVC these Reps has no clue on whats going on, they just randomlly talking BS! what is it the "police certificate is not acceptable" how he made up his mind deciding "not acceptable"

I'm glad you finally got to speak to a supervisor and got your case complete! I keep asking these Yahoos to let me speak to a supervisor, they put you on hold and comeback saying, no body available, and we are suppose to believe that cra#p? seriously lol

I got the Senator's office involved 3 weeks ago, they asked for the documents that are missing, I faxed them copies, and they will call me once there is something new, but even though, you get your Rep or Senator's office involved, NVC is NVC bunch of monekies can’t tell their a$$ from a hole in the ground lol NVC process is sux! and not gonna change overnight unfortunately.

Speaking of "accountability the government has" this goverment or any pervious one are no different than the 3rd world countries. Steals our tax dollar which goes to these disguised unemployees whos working at NVC - and whats happening under the tables even worse.

So true, but people love to sensationalize the US. It seems like a glimmering beacon of hope from overseas. But once you're here, you realize a big portion of what you believed is a facade. Now, I am a citizen, but I'm just guessing that's what most people realize after coming here.

That is so true!

I have mailed them AGAIN the missing document, and now they have it. I hope things will work out this time, and they won't ask for anything else.

Hi VJ

On Nov. 2nd. I have mailed the missing document (that NVC claimed missing) for the third time. I have waited the 30 days and it was due last night. during this waiting time, I have been calling the NVC almost every other day, most of the NVC Representatives insisted in telling me that I have to wait the complete 30 days exactly for my papers to be reviewed. and everytime I request politely to speak to a supervisor, they put me on hold for 10 seconds and then say no one available or they are at a meeting. Never had a chance to speak to any supervisor.

Last night I called NVC and the Rep. said, that I have to re-send again the missing document which is the Marriage Termination for my wife. I was in total shock and I'm still, she insisted that this document is missing, I took a deep breathe and nicely explained to her that I have already mailed it with several others documents already 3 times. I didn't get any checklist for that either? She said, you have 2 options, you either send the missing document or I will put your case on a supervisor review which will take 42 days to complete.

I was very confused and I'm still can't believe this is happening, so I decided to call NVC again, and I spoke to a gentleman, I basically asked him about the status of my case, he replied, that my case has been sent today to a supervisor review which will take 42 days to complete. I asked him if there is any missing document, and he said, no, I told him what his co-worker said, he said to disregard what she said as there is absolutely no need to re-mail the documents you already have mailed. I told him, I have not requested for my case to be put on supervisor review why and how this happened? he said, we have not reviewed your documents that you've sent on Nov. 2nd. during the 30 days and somebody put your case on supervisor review, I asked him if possible I could speak to a supervisor and he said no one available.

I called NVC today, and the Rep. confirmed that my case on a supervisor review for the 2nd. time - I contacted my Senator office, and they will investigate to find out what's going on.

I'm totally confused about the entire NVC process and I don't know who I should listen to or believe? with all different answers I'm getting from NVC Reps? I'm so desperate for help, I don't know what else to do other than waiting, I already sent 2 certified mails, one on Oct. 19th. and one on Nov. 2nd. for the same requested documents, I have followed all the instructions they have on NVC website since the beginning of the process, I have waited so patiently and still.

I thought I'd share my story with VJ, and I'm not sure if anyone has been through "supervisor review" for a second time. I was also wondering, if NVC are using "what so called" missing document after the 30 days period as an excuse to give them more time to review the mail and put cases on "supervisor review"?

I wish everyone the best of luck. Thanks.

I think that depends what country you're from. For sure, most Europeans don't see the US that way, rather the total opposite. :) For me, there are so many things in the US that I still don't know if I'll be able to live with.

I love the idea of doing a "We the people" petition, at least to highlight the issues most people are facing at NVC. The whole NVC process definitely needs to be looked at.

We were stuck at NVC for eight months, almost four and a half of those were spent on supervisor review. My advice is that if you haven't heard anything by day 46 on supervisor review, involve your Senator. Our Senator getting involved is what got us our cc. Otherwise, I'm sure we would have still been stuck at NVC.
