Post Office, I need my peace of mind

GC expiration date 1/23/2016, 90 days starts on 10/25/2015, sent off package 10/27/2015 with USPS Express one day delivery, which supposed to get to CA service center yesterday (10/28) and now the Post Master told me that they accidentally put my package into the wrong container so now it's going to take longer time. They will refund me the money, but I don't need refund money, I NEED MY PACKAGE TO GET THERE.

If I could I'd rather drive there myself and drop off the package myself (I know it's not possible) but now USPS is playing with my mind and I do not trust their ability at all..

Ouch! The exact same thing happened to me when I filed to adjust status 2 years ago! The post office put my package in the regular priority mail box and not the one day express mail. To make matters worse, they took 4 days to figure out what was going on and where my package was. Then it was the weekend after that mess, with my package finally arriving there 8 days after I mailed it out.

The point of my story was that it's fine, your package will get there soon. Don't stress!!

It appears that you wisely sent your ROC petition early on in ROC petition acceptance window. We also sent ours in early, and there was some type of delivery delay. USCIS did get it, and with plenty of days to spare before the 90 day window closed.

Now, looking back a year later, the couple of days ROC petition delivery delay seems rather insignificant compared to the close to nine-months of waiting for adjudication of our ROC petition by USCIS. Getting an RFE after almost eight months was some progress, at least our petition had made it from some government warehouse to an adjudicator's desk.

Hang in there, you and your petition will soon be in the protracted waiting period currently being characterized by USCIS system overload. I can tell you that finally getting ROC approval and the 10-year GCs makes it all okay.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thank you for the kind words, I'm sure everyone has something to complain when it comes to the immigration journey, it's not pretty and it's not going to be fun. We had a lot of hardship when we were applying for conditional GC, and now I am so not looking forward to lifting condition, knowing that even the delivery couldn't make it on time as it 'promised'...Anyway, I will keep monitoring.

Thanks

You are welcome. You should be okay (and no, I don't work for USPS  ) You seem to be in a lot better position than the folks that either suddenly remembered to send their ROC petition a couple of months after the filing window deadline has passed, or their dog ate their paperwork, or the folks that due to some cosmic calendar shift their ROC petition has to be sent overnight Friday afternoon to get there prior to the Saturday deadline. All kinds of stories have been told at these forums. I can only imagine all of the stuff that USCIS adjudicators have experienced.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

We sent ours a little over two weeks before our window closed. From overseas. Using regular priority. On a Saturday.

And it got there in under two weeks.

There's times you should worry. This is more of a situation where you could party for two months straight lol.
