IR5 and I 864 questions

Hello:

I petitioned my parents to come and live with me here in the USA. I'm still waiting for approval of I-130 but I'm trying to understand the steps and all requirements before its time.

I was reading the requirements regarding the I864 and I checked the poverty line and I found out that my income is right were it should be for only my dependents, meaning that I can't sponsor my parents for not meeting the income requirement. My sister is going to be a joint sponsor. Both of her and her husband work and they make more than enough. Here are my questions:

1) Even though that my income is not enough, I'm supposed to file I864 because I'm the petitioner?

2) Does my sister have to file form I864 just like me?

3) does her husband have to file anything with her just because he is married or no?

4) She is here as a permanent resident, I'm pretty sure she is allowed to sponsor our parents.

I hope I asked all of my questions otherwise be on the look out for more please lol.

Petitioner always submits an affidavit of support regardless of income.

Any US citizen or green card holder can be a sponsor.

Sister would complete the I-864 as well. Her husband should complete an I-864a. This is often asked for no matter what the joint sponsor's income level. The I-864a shows that the spouse is aware of the sponsorship obligation.

Thank you so much Anh map. will I have to submit my sister's I864 with mine at the NVC stage or at a later time at the mebassy stage?

Thanks again.

Yep, your I-864, your sister's I-864 and the husband's I-864A along with all supporting docs will need to be submitted at the NVC stage. Your parents should also bring copies of these docs to their interview at the embassy.
