Greetings all,

I guess ill start with a little bit about myself. I came to America in 1999 through a war refugee program related to the Yugoslav wars. I was only 7 at the time and didn't quiet understand why or what was happening.

I had been living in Germany after leaving Bosnia & Herzegovina due to the wars as I mentioned. I went to school and had friends that were left behind.

I arrived in Denver, CO, where my Aunt had moved a couple years prior and my family moved into her apartment that she had just moved out of. My father began working within 10 days of arriving and did not speak a word of English.

I started school, and also did not speak English, but hey, I was good at math and you do not need to speak to show your knowledge in that so I was left to be in a school full of kids that I did not know. TERRIFYING.

I am going to fast-forward here and summarize that after 15 years of not being in my country of birth my dad went to visit and took me along with him. I was 21 at the time and was there for 3-4 weeks.

During the last 9 days I had met Branka, my wife now, and spent as much time with her as I could. Not knowing the city she showed me around and took me to a couple movies and ice cream shops.

When I left I didn't know that I would miss her as much as I did but I promised her I would come back to visit her. We weren't dating or anything, I just knew that I wanted to be with her already.

6 months later in December, I finished college early and treated myself to a trip back to Bosnia for a month. Since my grandparents have a basement that is separate(its an apartment) from the house I was able to live there for a month and spend almost every minute with my soon to be girlfriend.

It was another year before I was able to visit again. It was hard, but we skyped almost every day, a few hours most days. It was hard because of the time zone differences and one of us would always have to set aside time in their day they would have spent doing errands and such.

When I saw her again I decided I would propose. I did it the traditional style my parents went through back in the day.

6 months later I came back this May 2015 and we organized a wedding ceremony after lifting all the required documents at the Embassy. After which I returned to the United states not knowing when I will be able to see my wife again :(.

I submitted a I-130 and got a priority date of June 5th. And now I wait....

So with all this please ask me if you would like any more details on whatever interests you from my introduction. I kept it pretty general hoping not to bore anyone.

Please let me know that time is moving forward by engaging in conversation, the wait time to try and bring someone into the country is ridiculous and I am glad to have found this community and see that I am not alone.

Again, thanks for reading, and ask away!

-Miro
