That's smart....Do you know how I can get one from the States when I'm no longer there?

United States of America

To obtain an FBI clearance, go to a local police station, FBI field office, or Immigration Service Center and obtain a fingerprint form, fill out the form and get fingerprinted. Mail the card with a certified cheque or money order for US$25 made payable to the "U.S. Treasury" to the following address:

FBI

CJIS Division

Attn: Special Correspondence - Mode - D2

1000 Custer Hollow Road

Clarksburg, West Virginia

26306 USA

Include a letter stating the request and reason for the FBI Clearance certificate.

A resident of the US can obtain a police clearance through their local police station.

. How do you check that your case it at nvc?

Since you are processing through the Philippines I have a website dedicated to the process. It's a step by step guide with all the links for the documents that are required. Guess what? It's free to use. My answer to your question is there but I will put it below. The link to my website is below at the red twisting arrow.

Checking on your embassy case number:

It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the MNL # from USEM. Call 7:00am eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 5 for non-immigrant visa K-1 visa.

NVC CONTACT INFORMATION:

Website: www.immigrantvisas.state.govwww.immigrantvisas.state.gov

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov

I highly recommend you email NVC for the MNL #, even if you call and get it, this will give you a correspondence from NVC with the MNL # for future reference. The email request for your MNL # is also a great way to track when your file is forwarded to USEM as NVC will not reply to the email until that time.

Police Record and Internet Story (I got lots of stories).

One of my good friend's had to pay $400 to get his mug shot and "record" taken off of a site that posted it. It wasn't a conviction record, it was an arrest. He had beaten up two guys, their car, chased them to their house and proceeded to smash their house before police arrived. Sounds bad doesn't it. Aggravated assault, destruction of private property.

Now the rest of the story. One of the two guys was a convicted child molester. They were trying to pick up my friend's 13 year old daughter as she was walking home from school. She had told her Dad about it the first it happened. The next day, he took off work, and followed her (without her knowing). The guys showed up again. My friend drove right up, pulled out a bat and started with his lesson on what they should have been taught by their parents.

My friend was in jail for 3 days, pay a lawyer, for 'chasing' them to their home---case was thrown out. Had he just beat them there and not chased them, the police said probably all would have been 'overlooked'; we are all fathers and can relate. One the perverts spent a month in the hospital, then went to spend time with his buddy in prison for the next year.

But my friend now had a 'record', with a pretty cool mug shot--he looks like a criminal in that thing. He got it taken off the internet, after paying the extortion fee.

Moral of the Story: Cut the perverts' tires first, then beat them to a pulp.

Please tell us, what do they usually want from the couples who met through the Website , I am talking about RFE.. ? We met online too.

Thank you a lot for the information we get from you!

Hello, each case may turn out a bit different as each adjudicator is different although there are certain things they are required to look at some fall into that gray are.

We met on an asian dating site, we only had a fews days of messaging there and then transferred to a free texting/calling app. On my I-129F I checked NO for the box were it asks if we met through a marriage broker.

For the line about how/where did we meet I put the name of the dating site and said the same thing that we mainly communicate on a free app.

I did not know about the Terms of service to include at the time and fully expected an RFE for this issue.

Well the I-129F was approved and no RFE.

Just too be safe I did print out the TOS along with all of our messages from the dating site in the event we did get an RFE but turned out we never needed it.

So my suggestion to anyone who hasn't already filed the I-129F print the TOS and mail it with your I-129F just in case.

If you already sent your petition and no TOS just have one ready to go just in case but it wasn't an issue for us.

how do I check if mines in transit?

Hi Sars, the transit Sam is referring to is from NVC to the Embassy.

You have the same NOA2 date as me 11/15 so our file won't be to the NVC until next week more than likely (but I still call NVC everyday just incase haha)

Once NVC gets our case from USCIS then they will generate a case number NOT the NOA 2 receipt number.

The NVC case number can then be entered into the web site

Isn't this fun? :joy::clock::joy:

You guys....all this banter about meeting online, chatting, etc makes me feel like an odd ball (I am, but that is besides the point). I'm obviously stuck in the pre-21st century (along with Gilligan, and using the phone versus text). No wonder the reviewer's taking so much time with my case they can't relate; we met in person (man sees girl, man meets girl--had to risk rejection), actually dated for several months (like in the old days), we met each other's friends, and talk on the phone (no skype, no Facebook, no social media). And we meet every 4 months....so strange in this modern day. Harder to document, so modern society don't like it.

Any who...

Since we have an unusual situation out of the norm. I'm going to ask the friends I still know in those places to write a letter attesting to our relationship, and get it stamped by the government -- like a notary. Since apparently a letter from a Catholic priest doesn't seem to carry much weight. Maybe that will help. See if her cousin can pen letters for her parents, they don't read/write, and get notarized as well.

I'm also in full planning for the marriage. Putting together invite list, venue (San Antonio Riverwalk), catering, honeymoon, etc. We already have the wedding dress, and rings. I'll have that printed up and ready for the interview.

Also got an idea from one of you guys, private message, to move her to Addis and get her in English immersion class ASAP to prep for the interview. That is a brilliant idea. Instead of me, and her cousin, trying to do all the teaching (hard to do since we're family), send her to school--or private tutor. Perhaps get 5-7 weeks of daily teaching in before the interview. That is now in the works.

The phones are down again....

Thanks for this tidbit. I just fired them off an email and got the generic auto response that they will reply in order received so maybe by 2017 I'll hear something back...LOL

Hopefully sooner it can't hurt.

Merry Christmas Greenbaum to you and your family.

That is such a nice, romantic story of how you met! Wish you both the best.

Yay, as of today mine says it is in transit from the NVC!

I found this searching around. It supposedly shows you how to track your package via DHL. :-)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/530927-how-to-track-your-packet-from-nvc-to-the-us-embassy/

I havent gotten mine to come up yet but I am assuming tomorrow I can try since it shipped today.
