Hi everyone! I have been patiently awaiting NOA2 and hoping it comes before the New Year. I am a bit nervous though. I am hearing people are getting RFE for not stating which Dating Website they used if they met online even if they checked no to not using and International Marriage Broker. I did not state that we used Okcupid for free and provide terms of service because I didn't think that info was relevant especially since we provided more than enough proof of having met in person and proof of ongoing relationship. Anyone else in the same boat? Worried but crossing my fingers for the approval!

Does not apply to me, but I have read that there are people who did as you with no issues. Your UK, so I seriously doubt you guys have to be overly concerned. Maybe, maybe you do get the RFE, it will be a minor hold up. By the way, I understand your reasoning--appears logical, but that is me not your reviewer.

Believe me you read enough in VJ you can get really messed up mentally, as well as your self-confidence. You get from one end of the spectrum to the other from a lot of good-intentioned arm chair generals.

In what way did they provide you with a wrong case number? My case is showing as 'In Transit' but looks like an immigrant case number.

Just an update on my crazy situation.

CHECK YOUR CASE # CORRECLTY DOUBLE CHECK IF YOU MUST.

For those who are still not aware after receiving your Noa2 update you can start calling NVC 2 weeks after receiving that update.

With your case number you can track your case while its on its way to the embassy where the interview will take place. Also with your case number you can start your ds-160 application and also schedule interview depending on the consulate of origin.

Faster is not always better! Haha

Those who know me know my case was moving at lighting speed which still feels like crawling to me.

But NVC gave me a wrong case number and all they could do was apologize...

With that case number i ended up paying the wrong visa fee.

I started to panic of course. Thank God my fiance is always the positive one. I felt like i was drowning calling NVC, and my embassy... Long and short best advice i received was to cancel my appointment and do a new Ds160 and pay the fee and schedule a new appointment.!!!

Finally now i see the light i have to schedule a new medical tomorrow but not too worried about that.

This process can be a rocky ride.

I did mention that i met him through a dating website, but i didnt provide any terms or explain much about it, no rfe though. Hopefully your case will be approved soon.

My question exactly and how did you find out it was the wrong case number? Was it just off by a digit or was it someone else's ?

If you got another persons maybe you got their number and they paid your fee...hehe..

The do check that item and if you did state you met on a "dating" site, they will typically give you a RFE. It's strange but with the amount of applicants I am sure many have used your site and others but they still ask for a RFE. Now it's wait and see. Good luck and maybe they will miss that item and you sail through with no problems.

Please tell us, what do they usually want from the couples who met through the Website , I am talking about RFE.. ? We met online too.

Go to the dating sites Web page and look for "terms of service" and print a copy to send back with your RFE. Some people have included a paragraph with the terms of service, stating how they met. Instructions will be contained in the RFE you receive on how to return your response.
