You mentioned K-3. I was looking to see if I could find any information about processing times for Ethiopia K-1' visas. Stumbled upon a link mentioning k-3 visa for Ethiopia.

This attorney claims that K-3's are no longer available in Ethiopia. This might be an outdated site.

You are correct on the K-3. It is a lost option.

I am getting a bit rattled by chatter from other VJ members from other 'countries' that claim that it is near impossible to get a K1 visa in Ethiopia. I saw a couple just get one a week ago, so I sent a note to them to ask for advise.

I got the armchair quarterback play calling of needing to have submitted (frontload) a photo book of 200 pictures. Needing to have pictures between my family and hers together (Europeans don't live on the same planet as the rest of us)--yes I can see my 70+ year old English only speaking conservative parents taking a plane ride 29 hours to Ethiopia to meet with her Ethiopian only speaking parents; my parents are terrified of all of Africa. Never mind her father has two wives.

The 200 pics did rattle me. I didn't take that many. Probably around 30 of us together. I took pictures of her--she's a lot more photogenic than me. And there is no place to go in Addis other than the places we went to the first trip. We just stay at the guest house, like a normal couple, talking, watching TV, taking walks around the neighborhood. I know that doesn't help our case.

No one seems to give any bonus points to having a letter from a catholic priest attesting that he met with us to counsel us in marriage in Djibouti in 2013--sort of shows we been thinking about this for a little while I would think. What a world we live in.

I know they were only trying to help. I just don't know what other 'evidence' i can put together. What else can i do to prepare for the interview?

Mine came today to as we both have same NOA 2 date.

I will make a photo copy of it first thing in the morning.

It is needed for AOS later down the road.

When do you plan on starting to call NVC?

I know! I will try next week Wednesday! Just a couple more days it might be early to call so next week. well see if nothing by then the battle to call almost daily will start from January 4! )

Someone's case was APPROVED tonight!!!!!!!!!! No, not me. But that shows there is still a chance. I just checked. It is the very first I-129F for Nov 2. Finally it was reviewed---And it was APPROVED!

I'm getting bad vibes about Ethiopia and k1. I don't have any positive feedback from anyone regarding K-1 and this embassy . I rather hope for the best, but plan for the worst. I'm now researching the K-3, which is what I should have done in the first place---She told me we should marry in Ethiopia 6 months ago, but did I listen. Stupid American.

Yes Excellent news! What a great way to start your week and a short week at that.

More NOA's to come I feel they will clear the November NOA-1 all THIS MONTH.

Hey all, long time reader of the thread, first post though!

Just wanted to let you know that I received the NOA2 this morning, got my NOA1 12th November, so they are still processing them right now! There's still a great chance of getting the Christmas present we all want.

It seems like most of us November filers are already with their NOA2's which is a good sign. Our NOA1 was from 11/24, so we have pretty much given up our hopes of receiving our NOA2 before 2016. But still, January is just around the corner.
