My apology. Another question.

So you told them when you arrived that you flew there to attend the interview? Did you ask for a person in the CO, nicely of course? From my experience, the security are the first gate keepers, and depending on who you get would rather say no.

I've emailed, but will call as well to find out. If there is a 'possible' I will be there. Presentation

HappyLayton you bring up a very good point.

Sad to say I've been through this K-1 before. I did NOT attend the interview with my now ex and she passed.

I'm thinking if I am there then that is one more person for the CO to judge.

i wonder if there are stats that show if a visa is more likely or not to be issued if the future spouse is there at the interview.

I haven't come across any stats on the success rate of those who attend and those who do not. What I do know from personal experiences and the experience of others we felt that the interview went smoother because we were there. One or two questions and boom, out of there with an approval.

I attended with my wife and children to their interview and I was amazed at the number of people that needed to be interviewed on one day let alone the whole year and I had no idea it was like this. It was an amazing experience to see our government in action. I had a new found respect for what the CO's do daily.

If you have the opportunity to go to your fiancé's interview, I highly recommend it. Most will appreciate that their future husband thought that much about what they were experiencing to be there with them made them proud and secure. And, in my opinion, it makes the process so much easier and the amount of questions the CO asks are limited when the petitioner is there.

Just my 2 cents.

hey jaime ... i dont think Ethiopian embassy allow petitioner to attend the interview ..do u have any idea !!

None of the embassies in Africa allow spouses to attend. In Nigeria they only allow the beneficiary through that second gate. I have been there and watched the guards stop people.

Does anyone know how long it takes to send the NOA2 from CSC to NVC? I am just trying to come up with some sort of timeline, doesn't have to be perfect. And once the NVC does receive it, how long does it usually take for them to process it? I know once they do process it, the shipping time from the NVC to the Embassy will depend on where it is.

z same goes to ethiopia but still my faince will come and try .. atleast ill show them his passport ..to show them zat he outside ..zats our plan

Me too. I'm going so at least they know I am there, and she will have more confidence. She is not good with interviews, or government offices; becomes very shy. Very good with practical life, but doesn't like details. She, and family, never celebrated anyone's birthday before, so until I pointed it on her passport she didn't even know the exact date.

We have some studying to do for the next couple of months. So maybe not getting through this process so fast is a good thing.

I think I will be the one that is emotionally distraught.

That's hard to say. I have been looking at other people's timelines. Looks like it has generally been taking 1.5 - 2 weeks. On a few rare ones, I saw only a few days. I'm in the same waiting game as you. Takes them only a few days to actually process the info from the visa petition.
