Thank you!

Our application was fairly easy so I was pretty confused on why the delay in approval. So after 45 days, I got a RFE that I did not answer a question on whether I had a criminal record or not, which I don't. I was surprised, as I thought I triple checked everything.

The RFE was an easy fix, being that the approval came within a week. They sent me a document asking the same question, I answered, signed and sent the documents the next day.

I remember feeling sad when many Oct filers were getting approved as my Fiance and I continued to wait. At some point I was wishing for a RFE just cuz I just needed to hear from them.

Don't lose hope, I'm pretty sure you'll hear something pretty soon, keep up the faith! :)

uggh, I panicked. It has been so long since I filled the I-129F that I had forgotten that question. I thought I didn't do it either. Just checked. I did complete that section... :pop:

thanks for sharing!

Yeah! Thank you. You guys are so supportive and uplifting, it's nice to have that during this process. Long distance is definitely not easy...very soon, we'll all be with our sweethearts #lovewins

You're quite welcome. VJ has been a tremendous help. There are many types of people on this forum and most are very supportive. In the end, we all have the same goal.

I can't express enough thanks to all the people here that share their stories, offer advice, and constructive criticisms. Greenbaum has been a huge help for me. The links he shares for Philippines gave me the direction I needed and will need in the near future. I read countless posts of his (and many others). Was very close to hiring a lawyer. The answers and help is right here. Everything you need to know and from people that have already completed the process.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: That is toooooo funny. I was told the same thing at work. Why I'm going through all the trouble, aggravation, emotional roller-coaster of a Visa when I could just go pick her up in Mexico, and come across just like that.

I learned way way way early in life there are people who do wrong and sail through life just fine and dandy. Some even prosper financially. Not criminal wrong, just general things. Then there are people who can't spit on the sidewalk without being called on the carpet as if a felony had been committed. And I belong to group 2.

Which is fine. I prefer doing it the right way, I have a conscious...and know right from wrong.

So now, where's that dang NOA2 or RFE :diablo::diablo:

I was the person who frequently got in trouble for things somebody else did!! Once in grade school I was sent to the office for cheating on a test. I was accused of looking at my classmates test. Made no sense at all. My argument with the principal was.. he scored 38 on the test and I scored 100. In fact, I had the only perfect test score!! The principal said: "You do have a point". Yep, I also belong to group 2.

Update: Just spoke to Santa. He had thoughts of delivering an early gift to you. Just something about those empty brown paper bags and empty bottles of Wine. His advice: Milk and cookies and don't burn the bags in the fireplace on Christmas Eve.

My company is on notice that I will be out for the interview, no matter the date. And then again to pick Aisha up, it will be 2 weeks later--she want's to be able to say "bye" to family. I'll be getting a lot of frequent flyer miles that month.

"He has court on that day":rofl::rofl::rofl: that sounds so familiar :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Sorry, not humours for you. It just reminds me of my past. And that is funny.

Change the interview date to a time that's more convenient for him. But he has month notice to give his firm. He really going to let something so important slip away for one day of work. He can even switch that court date with a colleague. There are lots of options for something so importantt, unless it's not that important to him.

I got through to Aisha today. We were able to talk for more than 1 minute without the phone cutting out. Yes, there is a lot of fighting going on in her area. Tomorrow all the children are going to be kept home, because there is word it is going to be bad. She told me not to be worrying, it is okay. :girlwerewolf2xn:

Even a short call makes all the difference. This is your week I promised a money back guarantee on a few others and so far they have not been let down. LOL

Let me be the first to say CONGRATS on your NOA-2 Jaime in Advance!

HappyLayton you bring up a very good point.

Sad to say I've been through this K-1 before. I did NOT attend the interview with my now ex and she passed.

I'm thinking if I am there then that is one more person for the CO to judge.

i wonder if there are stats that show if a visa is more likely or not to be issued if the future spouse is there at the interview.

I'm Nov 2...so you got my support. South Africa ain't normal Africa. I think you know that. It certainly aint Ghana, Mozambique, Libya, not that those are bad places, just not the same. So don't even think it is an issue. It ain't Ethiopia at the start of a major uprising with your significant other stuck on the uprising side of the fence.

You are just on the cusp of time for review, right at the start of holidays. So it is much harder for staff to do a lot of reviews when they are tracking their Amazon orders to make sure they arrive in time for Christmas, or who said what to whom at the Christmas party, or did you see what 'she wore', etc.

Yes it is hard. But no worries! Try setting up a video diary. Capture your thoughts as they occur at this moment. You will have something to share next year, and to your children/grand-children many years from now....

Thanks so much for your reply - yes you're 100% right about what you say regarding SA and Africa. I can only imagine how terrible it is having your fiance in Ethiopia where there is so much unrest. Thank you for the encouragement and suggestions. All will be fine soon enough I'm sure!! :-)

I think it is my quark of needing to be driving the life boat. I rather they focus on judging me, and us together, than just her alone. My ego maybe in this, but I am never (years of experience) judged badly. Nice guy :goofy:

I want them to see how we interact with each other. Silent physical communication, as well as how we talk to each other that shows we are together. I have already seen it. We have been to places (stores etc), and Aisha has translated strangers 'talking' about "her Husband"--good sign.

Then there is her limited English which I understand completely (I taught her a lot of what she knows), so I want to be there to translate if needed--we talk what I call African English. Again showing we communicate very well, which may not be evident if she were alone.

I understand documentation 100% better than she does. She is not a book person. So if there is additional information requested, or tech questions, I got it.

Final reason. Relationship points. I've flying 28 hours to be with her for 2 days (arrive day before) to practice, attend, and then leave---major honey points. (F)

Final Final reason. I would be a total wreck if I were at home, not knowing what is going on. If it went bad I would blame me :girlwerewolf2xn:

This may not work for all situations, as there are beneficiaries who are probably better suited for the interview alone. Just our situation. Do as Greenbaum says----
